[[WMG: All the characters are telekinetic, not just the ones without arms.]]
I agree with the sundry unifying guesses that say that the FCUSA is some sort of post-apocalyptic landscape full of mutants, but here is my take on this:

* Homestar is physically frail, but his telekinetic powers grant him not only arms, but also allow him to be the "Terrific athlete" of the children's books.
* Homsar is his distant cousin, who is insane, and wildly powerful, as demonstrated again and again.
* Strong Bad is vastly intelligent, and has some mental control over computers, allowing him to access the internet with computers made in the late 70's, type with boxing gloves et al., but he is also deformed, hence the boxing gloves and mask, which are not at all part of him. He shares these traits with his real brother, Cardgage. He is also in a state of arrested development, hence the childish pranks.
* Strong Sad is his half brother, who has some lame power like talking to plants, which he does a lot.
* Strong Mad is greatly telekinetic just to support his massive bulk. He also has some of his half-brother Strong Bad's control over computers, shown when he drank bandwidth and declared that he was a website.
* Bubs wasn't lying when he said that he previously had the power to float until he gained weight. He is also insane, something like Homsar, only more stable. Sometimes he goes a bit crazier, and the result is shark-tooth Bubs.
* Marzipan is roughly in the same boat as Homestar, but the King of Town, her birth father, whom she disowned, can keep himself living in his extremely poor health by sheer willpower. When he has multiple heart attacks in "record book", he is literally staying alive by telekinetically forcing his heart to beat.
* The Poopsmith, I don't even want to hazard a guess.
* Coach Z has all his limbs, but he, like Homestar, requires special powers to be a great athlete. He can also live on Listerine.
* And Pom Pom is some new species, as he has always been implied to be, so he is not a mutant.

Whew.

* Looking back over this, I forgot that Strong Bad had the diamond thing. This to me seems like just a part of his powers.

[[WMG: All ''All'' the characters are telekinetic, not just the ones without arms.psychotic mutants.]]
I agree with There's been a huge nuclear/chemical war, causing numerous birth defects, mental illnesses, and possibly the sundry unifying guesses creation of a race of deformed supermen. The area that say that used to be Georgia, the FCUSA Carolinas and parts of Florida is some sort of post-apocalyptic landscape full of mutants, but here now a "free country" where the government shipped all the mutants. Also, Salad Fingers is my take on this:

the same thing in England.

Anyways, our main characters are all telekinetic madmen:

* Homestar is physically frail, frail and armless, but he uses his telekinetic powers grant him not only arms, but also allow him to be the "Terrific athlete" a "terrific athlete".
* Marzipan just uses her telekinesis to make up for her lack
of the children's books.
arms. She also telepathically interferes with Homestar's brain to make him about twice as stupid as he'd normally be.
* Homsar is his distant cousin, who is insane, Homestar's cousin. He's absolutely insane and wildly powerful, as demonstrated again and again.
an extremely powerful mutant.
* Strong Bad is vastly intelligent, and has some mental control over computers, a technopath, allowing him to access the internet with computers made in the late 70's, type with boxing gloves et al., and so on, but he is he's also physically deformed, hence the boxing gloves so he wears a mask and mask, which are not at all part gloves. He can also use his mind to open bottles of him.Cold Ones. He shares these traits with his real brother, Cardgage. He is Mentally, he's stuck in sixth-grade, but he's also in a state of arrested development, hence the childish pranks.
incredibly intelligent.
* Strong Sad is his half brother, who has some lame power like talking to plants, which he does a lot.

keep beating.
* The Poopsmith, Poopsmith... I don't even want to hazard a guess.
* Coach Z has can subsist on Listerine and his mind is almost gone. Yeah, that's all his limbs, but he, like Homestar, requires special powers to be a great athlete. He can also live on Listerine.
I got.
* And Pom Pom is some new species, as he has always been implied species.
* The Cheat is an alien and the events of "Flashback" really did happen. He fell from the sky in some sort of an egg, which also contained some yolk for him
to be, so he is not a mutant.

Whew.

* Looking back over this, I forgot that Strong Bad
survive on. The yolk had about the diamond thing. This to me seems like just a part consistency and appearance of his powers.

* Keep up ''his'' appearances? What about her? I doubt she wants to be known as the girl who dates Saddy Dumpington.

It handily explains why [[SnapBack Homestar is back for the next cartoon]], even though he was told he'd have to stay with the Roucolm for all eternity. It eventually got sick of Homestar asking "Has it been eternity yet?" and kicked him out.

It would explain why feeding him "the culinary opposite of chicken wings" returned him to normal, even though Bubs says his transformation was the result of him accidentally flushing himself down the toilet: Strong Sad's Kashi cereal neutralized one of the two ingredients (mutagentic waste from the sewer, and whatever it is that makes Bubs' chicken wings so dang good).

Because, c'mon: the [[GettingCrapPastTheRadar Radar-dodging]] yet still kid-friendly brand of humor would fit right in with ''WesternAnimation/AdventureTime''. In addition, Creator/AdultSwim tried to make a deal with the Brothers Chaps a few years ago, but they probably declined out of the fear that Adult Swims execs would [[ExecutiveMeddling make it too adult]] like Spike TV execuas did with RenAndStimpy. Besides, it's not like Cartoon Network has an aversion to ''[[TotalDramaIsland crappy]]'' [[AlmostNakedAnimals Flash]] [[JohnnyTest cartoons]], so why not pick up a genuinely ''good'' Flash cartoon for once?

[[WMG: Bubs' middle name ''isn't'' "Concession"]]
As I've noted in [[http://friendlylocalgeek.tumblr.com/post/119516436186/random-headcanon-bubs-c-stand this Tumblr post]], in "Senorial Day", Bubs boasts "You'll save like a demon, or my name ain't Bubs Concession Stand!" He shows an expired photo ID of himself in an attempt to support this, but the ID lists his name as "Bubs C. Stand". Given [[HonestJohnsDealership what a shady businessman Bubs is]], the C. probably stands for [[EmbarrassingMiddleName something embarrassing]], like Cornelius or Ciaphas. Or maybe even [[ContinuityNod Crabadonk]].

* This theory could also explain why Marzipan is the only girl. As we've learned from Film/JurassicPark, a creature bearing two X chromosomes is easier to create than one with both an X and Y. As two X's create a female, whoever was doing this experiment would have had the means to create many females. However the ease of programming a female also leaves room to screw up, so I'm betting before Marzipans mutation/creation, other females were made but rejected *CoughCough*concept art*CoughCough*. After all, Marzipan seems to be an almost ideal mutant. Think about it: Almost normal looking, pretty (ish), not hindered by any bad mutations, has either telepathy or invisible limbs (something the person doing the experiment seems to have been striving for). If you've made a good one, why go any further?
