[[WMG: If Bella were to have a weather power it would be earthquakes.]]
The other girls have the elements: water (Emma’s with her ice), fire (Rikki), and air (Cleo with her wind control). Bella would naturally fill in the last spot with earth. Since the other girls created an electrical storm, perhaps she could have the power over creating and controlling earthquakes.

All that mythology of the island in this series and ''[[Series/MakoMermaidsAnH2OAdventure Mako Mermaids]]''? That's a load of bullcrap, Kornbluth hired someone who knew his way around doing headcanons for various properties to write up fake myths surrounding the island.

[[WMG: This show is in the same continuity as ''Series/OceanGirl''.]]
Specifically, Mako Island is the same place where Neri lived, and the girls were rescued from the island by a team from ORCA (Oceanic Research Centre of Australia).

Before Lewis goes to find her he speaks to Max, who mentions something along the lines of 'sometimes keeping the two lives balanced gets to be too much.' In addition, throughout the series it's repeatedly shown that sharks tend to leave the mermaids alone if they aren't being bothered- there was even an episode in season 1 about Rikki filming sharks for an amateur movie contest because '(she) can get footage no one else can.' Cleo wasn't fleeing near Mako because she wanted to be eaten, she was instead planning on abandoning her human life and living underwater. She simply chose to hide near Mako because she was emotional and it was a place she had strong ties to (it was also implied she hoped she'd be rescued anyway) and the sharks only took an interest in her because she was in a weak state.

* Charlotte had at least one very notable, if you ask me, selfish and petty moment even before her mermaid upgrade (I refer to secretly turning off Lewis's phone). Anyway, ''Series/MakoMermaidsAnH2OAdventure'' (which is in canon) completely contradicts this: we see far more pettiness from Evie (literally the only other person we get to know well both before and after her transformation) ''before'' gaining powers than afterwards (mostly due to her frustration with being LockedOutOfTheLoop).

When Charlotte said that Cleo, Emma, and Rikki only care about themselves, she wasn't wrong. The girls show themselves to be petty, selfish, spiteful, and manipulative over and over again. On the other hand, Charlotte was actually a pretty decent person who seemed to be genuine in her efforts to have a relationship with Lewis... at least, until she got mermaid powers, at which point she became as bad as the other girls. When she's BroughtDownToNormal, she acts more like her old self again.

He just never brought it up because he knew it would just cause problems, the way it did when Kim 'caught on'.

[[WMG: Elliott knew the girls' secret (almost) all along.]]
When Cleo made excuses about her diary and her tail, that was enough to convince Kim, but not Elliott; Kim hadn't had her shower suddenly start hailing on her. Emma might have tried to explain that or she might not have even known it had happened, but Elliott knew the truth. When she refused to go on vacation, he wasn't just mad at her for not going; he was mad at her for not trusting him and their parents. But he decided eventually to leave her alone and suggested to the family to go someplace dry so she could be more at ease.
He just never brought it up because he knew it would just cause problems, the way it did when Kim 'caught on'.

Miss Chatham reveals that she gave up her powers, and it's implied that Gracie did so as well. However, we never learn if Julia did so as well. Out of Cleo, Emma and Rikki, it seems that Rikki is the one who enjoys being a mermaid and having special powers the most. Since Julia apparently was somewhat similar to Rikki, it's possible that Julia chose to keep her powers.

This is one of the reason why they were destined to be Teen mermaids before the show's beginning, since the said latter 3 could be their Japanese cousins. Another is Aqua Regina already had it planned for them after the 1st 3 Mako Island Mermaids.
