[[WMG: The [[spoiler:Scrap Chica from the Security Logbook]] was cut content, by evidence of remnants in the code of an additional enemy.]]
I think this only because of the correlation between said unused id, and the fact we [[spoiler:never see a [[TheUnfought Scrap Chica]] outside of the logbook.]] The remaining code for this animitronic do suggest it could have had to do with having all ads, so this could be as good as jossed.

[[WMG: William murdered Cassette Man's daughter/the Puppet for a different reason than his other victims.]]
Cassette Man, [[spoiler:all but confirmed as the CanonImmigrant of Henry Emily]], used to be William's partner and EvilFormerFriend. Compared to his usual M.O Afton killing his daughter is off; he killed her in a drive-by rather than luring her away [[ManipulativeBastard by using her trust]] (as it's unlikely her family knew of the monster he was at the time) like he did the victims of the Missing Children Incident. While the others were either some sort of mad science and/or just ForTheEvulz, Afton killed his partner's daughter either as an act of spite against him or as a way to emotionally manipulate his so-called friend by comforting him after the loss. If it's the former, it might be [[DrivenByEnvy simple envy]] of [[spoiler:Henry's talents]], or possibly the loss (figurative or literal) of a family member so taking his daughter was a twisted way of getting even.

This is assuming the Crying Child in Fnaf 4 is the Purple Guy's son, and Sister Location is before Fnaf 2. When he died in 1983, Afton was angry and killed Henry's daughter in an attempt to "make them even". He started [[AbusiveParents treating Michael poorly]] because he caused the accident as the older brother, and probably killed his friends because of their involvement in it. The Funtime Animatronics would kidnap kids so as to try and resurrect his son, but that backfired when his daughter died. Deciding that [[IfItCantHaveYou if he can't have kids nobody can]], he started personally killing kids until his death, zombification and destruction.

If you interpret 4 as being the nightmares of the Older Brother rather than the Bite Victim, several more theories make sense. While the Bite of 83 takes place four years before the Bite of 87, FNAF 4 itself takes place possibly quite soon before FNAF 2. This gives the Older Brother a good MyGodWhatHaveIDone moment, as well as motivation to become a night guard to see for himself the veracity of the rumors surrounding his father and his new franchise. Older Brother assumes the fake name Jeremy Fitzgerald, and is later promoted to day shift- and, [[KarmicRetribution karmically]] becomes the victim of the Bite of 87. It's simply not possible, or very very odd, for Michael to be both Jeremy and Fritz.

* It's unknown how Baby rebuilt herself, but ths fact that she has a huge claw hand can't be a coincidence given that a claw was seen coming out of her torso to grab Elizabeth. Perhaps she found the same pieces and used them for a hand.

An old out of date timeline of mine. In retrospect, borders onto fanfiction. Doesn't belong on here.

[[WMG: New Timeline]]

'''Author's note: This timeline is an updated version of one I have written and posted on the ''Sister Location'' WMG page; updated accordingly with new information (character names, story revelations etc). It omits or plays around with certain fan theories, with explanations as to why down below. This also tries to connect the timeline of the games and the books via BroadStrokes, as I feel there is ''just enough'' to take the books into consideration.'''

In the mid-to-late seventies, an inventor named Henry created animatronic toys to entertain his two children, Charlotte (better known as Charlie) and Sam[[spoiler:antha]] (better known as Sammy). Eventually, Henry would go into business with one William Afton, who also owned Afton Animatronics. The animatronics they designed were state of the art for their time, and they would go on to run two restaurants based off of characters Henry created; Freddy Fazbears Pizzeria, and Fredbears Family Diner.\\
While Henry had a lot of heart in his work, Afton was more business-minded. Afton would also make animatronics for other restaurants — notably Circus Baby's Pizza Place — to make some extra money, but unbeknownst to anyone else, he designed the animatronics with a second purpose; the abduction and murder of children. Why? Who knows, but perhaps it has something to do with a cold, empty bitterness within his heart that he otherwise tried to distract himself from. Afton had a family of his own, and tried to feel the same joy he saw in Henry with his two children. William Afton had a young daughter, Elizabeth, whom he was fairly close to. On the other hand, William had a strained relationship with his eldest son, Michael, on account of Michael getting his girlfriend pregnant before he graduated high school. As for Elizabeth, well, one day she got a little too close to Baby despite her father's insistence not to and was in turn "eaten" by Baby. It was through this that William discovered that his animatronics imprison the souls of the children. So what does William do to Baby[=/=]Elizabeth about this revelation? Has her placed in the factory to be sealed up alone in the dark. He couldn't say he didn't warn her, she made her bed and now has to sleep in it.

Years later, William had since moved to a more expensive house, and despite his strained relationship with Michael, allowed Michael to stay in their old house to raise his family. He even gave Michael a job as a day shift guard at Fredbear's Family Diner, which was a walking distance from their house. Michael's family included two sons, his first one who we will call Phillip, and six years later, a second son who we will call Claude. However, out of respect for his sister, Michael left her old bedroom alone and untouched, asking his sons to stay out of the room. Every year on special occasions, the Afton family would have parties at Fredbear's. On Phillip's birthday, it was a fairly busy party, so much so that no one noticed Henry's children Sam and Charlie, with Sam being abducted. Or William Afton strangling Sam to death outside the restaurant on the spur of the moment, only he didn't notice his grandson Claude was a witness. It was from this the Puppet was born.

In 1983, the events of ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys4'' occur; Claude has been traumatized by what he witnessed and scared of the restaurant ever since. He was so scared he never talked about what he witnessed. As such, no one knew what was bothering him; as far as his parents knew, Claude was just scared of the animatronics and would just have to eventually get over them; as far as the other kids (especially Phillip) knew, Claude was little more than a crybaby, which made him a target of bullying. Because of the bullying, Claude was all the more scared and reluctant to come forward. On the days before his seventh birthday, Phillip's teasing of Claude got worse, and Claude had no one except for a mysterious Fredbear doll that seemed to talk with him while he was alone. On the day of Claude's seventh birthday, the Afton family once again celebrated at Fredbear's. Since Michael was technically on the job, he asked Phillip to keep an eye on Claude while he was busy. Phillip and his friends ganged up on Claude to tease him, eventually taking him to the Fredbear amimatronic for a "kiss". This led to the bite, which put the party to a stop, and poor Claude into a coma.

Naturally, the family was distressed. Michael felt absolutely helpless as a father for what happened and put all his money in trying to keep his son alive, and get him awake. This put quite the controversy on the Fredbear establishment. Phillip was remorseful about what happened to Claude, but his parents were angry with him, not only for what he did to Claude, but also Phillip's confession to bullying and teasing Claude. The last conversation Michael and Phillip had was Michael giving him a scathing scolding, all but disowning him and letting Phillip know that if Claude died, it was all on him. As it so happens, William had been having problems of his own with Elizabeth's spirit in the factory. Not willing to risk his own skin (pardon the {{foreshadowing}} pun), William approached Michael to reveal that his sister's soul is trapped, and if Michael could free her soul, perhaps he can find a way to put his son back together. Desperate, Michael agrees to the job, making a promise to his son to put him back together (which Claude thought was a dream). This leads to the events of ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddysSisterLocation''. Eventually, Michael finds himself in the scooping room, where Ennard scoops his insides and wears him. Over the next few days, Ennard tries to pass himself off as normal, as Michael's flesh rots around it. Eventually, Michael vomits Ennard out, and finds himself somehow alive. Due to his now corpse-like appearance, Michael was forced to leave his family and disappear, now pretty much dead to the public. He never got to find out what happened to his family; not his sons, not their mother, or even if Claude awoke or survived. Michael was forced to lurk in the shadows...

In 1985, with the loss of his family and his animatronic company going up in smoke as a result of unsafe working conditions, William Afton had nothing to distract himself from that empty bitterness in his heart. Eventually, it got the better of him and he finally snapped, deciding to finally completely indulge in the sadism he was holding himself back from. William started his killing spree at Fredbear's, where he wore the Spring Bonnie suit. This second controversy is what shut down the restaurant, and William moved on to Freddy's Pizzaria, where he personally murdered more children. This got Freddy's to shut down and William was made the prime suspect of the missing children incident, but was let go due to lack of evidence. People even began to suspect Henry being the one to have been the killer on account of Sam's death. Unable to handle these rumours, on top of his own grief, Henry created a new animatronic to take his life. His daughter Charlie was a witness to this and was sent to live with her aunt.

In 1987, the events of ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys2'' occur. William Afton has since disappeared from the public eye, but Freddy's was reopened under new management with new "Toy" animatronics designed to replace the old ones, who they kept in stock for extra parts. They toys were built with access to the police database to keep an eye on potential predators to avoid a second incident. Another notable animatronic was a "Toy Foxy", who was torn apart by children [[ReplacementScrappy for not being the Foxy they knew and loved]], so eventually the employees got tired of rebuilding it, so they decided to use at as a "build it yourself" game and nicknamed it the Mangle. Jeremy Fitzgerald was hired for a week and had to spend it dealing with the animatronics, and despite their software allowing them to recognize people, they went a little haywire at night. During this week, the old animatronics were being repaired. On top of that, it would appear more children were disappearing, with a police investigation looking into it. Jeremy was eventually moved to the day shift, while Fritz Smith handled Custom Night. The next day, Fritz was fired for tampering with the animatronics, and during a birthday celebration, yet another bite from an animatronic occured. As a result, the toy animatronics were discontinued and the old animatronics were no longer allowed to roam during the day.

In 1990, the events of the original ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys'' occur. The restaurant is standing on its last legs with the main attractions, the animatronics, no longer allowed to wander, and Foxy being out of order, and the Fazbear franchise's previous controversies casting a shadow. A college student, Mike Schmidt, was hired to work the night shift of the restaurant, thinking it'll be a simple job with decent pay (y'know, for the time). After a week-long nightmare at work, Mike was eventually fired with pay for tampering with the animatronics. The tampering, plus Mike revealing what happened there at night to his peers and reporting the death of a co-worker to the police, got the establishment shut down for good. And Mike's stories about what happened became fodder for urban legends surrounding the Fazbear franchise.

In 1995, with the Fazbear franchise dead, it was only natural that it got buried. And that burial was in the form of a half-finished mall that sealed up and hid the restaurant. That mall had a single guard on the premises by the name of David Miller. The events of ''Literature/FiveNightsAtFreddysTheSilverEyes'' take place, beginning with the anniversary of the missing children incident, and a memorial at the local school. Charlie returns to her hometown and reunites with her childhood friends, John, Jessica, Carlton, Lamar, and Marla. They decide to revisit what's left of Freddy's for nostalgia, and take Marla's younger brother Jason along with them. During their week-long stay in town, Charlie tries to reconnect mysteries of her past, including the death of her father and brother. On their second visit to Charlie's. they meet Dave, and Jason witnesses a yellow Bonnie costume abduct Carlton. As luck would have it, Carlton's father is the chief of police. While he thinks it's one of Carlton's pranks, he looks into the matter and even looks at old case files of the missing children incident, discovering that David Miller and William Afton are one and the same. Charlie and her friends go back to rescue Carlton, and are attacked by the animatronics, who are pacified when they realize the animatronics are possessed by the spirits of their friends, including Charlie's sibling Sammy. As they are about to leave, they are attacked by Afton in the Spring Bonnie suit. In both self-defense and retaliation, Charlie activates the spring locks in the suit, killing Afton within it. The animatronics drag Afton, suit and all, into the darkness. With her past resolved and the mysteries put to rest, Charlie leaves the restaurant with her friends.

1996, a year later, ''Literature/FiveNightsAtFreddysTheTwistedOnes'' occur. Charlie goes to college just outside her hometown with Jessica and aspires to go into the same line of work as her father. A rash of murders occur, resembling the deaths by springlock failures. Charlie and her friends learn of another set of animatronics designed by William Afton; the very ones he created to abduct and murder children dubbed "The Twisted Ones". Teaming up with Clay Burke in his investigation, more of William Afton's crimes are uncovered and Charlie herself is abducted by the Twisted Ones who take her to William Afton himself, whose soul survived in the same springlock suit he was killed in, and has been using his control over the Twisted Ones to seek revenge on Charlie. Charlie, in the meantime, has been having nightmares about her sibling Sammy and sought answers for what happened. When Charlie's friends come to her rescue, along with the Fazbear gang (leading to an Animatronic vs Animatronic fight with the Twisted Ones), Charlie fights Springtrap and begins to interrogate him about what happened to Sammy, much to Springtrap's confusion. Springtrap is forced to flee, but Charlie is lured and seemingly killed by Twisted!Freddy. Her friends mourn for her, when a woman bearing an uncanny resemblance to Charlie enters, to which John says "That's not Charlie."

What happens next? Who knows, considering the books' cliffhanger and the yet-to-be-released next book. However, eventually the Fazbear gang animatronics are destroyed and Springtrap entombed in what's left of Freddy's.

Years later, the events ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys3'' take place. Someone decides to make a profit from the urban legends of the Fazbear franchise. The plan was to open a horror-themed attraction called Fazbear's Fright, and even uncovered an actual suit from what's left of the restaurant; unwittingly, with William Afton within said suit. A night guard is hired for the attraction, and in addition to spending a week matching wits with William Afton, now known as Springtrap, this guard also sees things; ghosts of the past. The night guard could leave the establishment anytime he pleases, and yet there is a reason the guard stays behind; it is because he is Michael Afton, and he sought to bring justice to his father. Through a series of puzzles and games, each one of the children's souls is set free, and the establishment is destroyed in a fire. Perhaps by arson, or faulty wiring; either way, the plans to profit off of the horror and tragedy of the Fazbear franchise has literally gone up in smoke.

However, despite the destruction of Fazbear's Fright, Springtrap survives and continues to lurk about and pulls the children's souls back with him due to their unfinished business. Shortly afterwards, the events of ''VideoGame/FreddyFazbearsPizzeriaSimulator'' occur; Michael comes into contact with someone who seeks to help him. It's Henry, who, despite his seeming suicide, seeks to bring an end to the tragic and murderous legacy once and for all. Call it a MissionFromGod for these two figures, with Henry acting as instructor and Michael acting as both a night guard and a tycoon (the latter possibly through a proxy) for a new "Pizzeria", going as far as to gain corporate sponsors. They use this in a bid to track down and salvage the remaining animatronics; in order to find the Puppet, a suit dubbed "Lefty" was designed to trap it; what remains of Ennard was seemingly destroyed and reassembled into what is known as Molten Freddy, which the children's souls end up possessing since the original animatronics were destroyed; Springtrap and Baby were also salvaged, resulting in a reunion between William Afton and Elizabeth. Unable to afford any more enemies and ''especially'' one of his own children, William plays around with Elizabeth's emotions and mental state, appealing to the fact she's his daughter as well as revealing Baby's purpose. From this, Elizabeth was corrupted into being DaddysLittleVillain who desires to be her father's heir and a killer in his footsteps. When the time comes and all the animatronics are gathered in the same place, the truth comes out; this isn't a new pizzeria, nor will it be open to the public. This has all been an elaborate scheme by Henry and Michael to gather the animatronics and souls within them and keep them busy in a maze and free them. The building is set on fire, destroying all within, and bringing an end to the horror once and for all. The children's souls are free, and Michael and Henry are able to move on, with their work being finished. As for William Afton, let's just say he won't stop burning anytime soon.

And now for explanations and theories to back up this timeline.

* '''The time setting in ''Sister Location'':''' This explanation should be simple. Since it's all but spelled out that ''4'' is set in 1983, I'd says there's some circumstantial evidence placing ''Sister Location'' on the same year. Namely, eighties references and the design of Afton's house, cameras showing the child's bedroom show said room is completely intact (as well as the code saying 1983), and Michael apparently going for a Rick Astley look. The cherry on top is the little jingle that plays when the shift ends in ''Sister Location'' sounding suspiciously similar to the ''Music/VanHalen'' song "''[[https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nBIWe9wStbA Jump]]''"... take a wild guess what year that song was released. Also going with the books, as this timeline does, Afton Animatronics is mentioned, but the books are set in the mid 90's, and in those books, William Afton disappeared from the public eye in the mid 80's, suggesting that Afton Animatronics went under as well, possibly beforehand.
* '''Why Michael Afton is not the brother and why he's the father of the two boys in ''4'':''' This one should be easy; Michael and what we see of the brother do not look the same. The brother has black hair while Michael clearly had brown hair, a lighter skin complexion, and a slimmer frame. Michael more closely resembles the crying child than he does the child's older brother, so it would make more sense that the child is the one who becomes Michael Afton, but if we are to incur that ''Sister Location'' takes place shortly after ''4'', as the evidence listed above suggests, that would be an impossibility; it would also be equally impossible for Michael to be the older brother for the same reasons.
* '''Why Michael is the father of the two boys:''' Michael is clearly an adult and living in his own house, and the two boys are all but stated to be Afton's and yet, who appears to be their father has to work a small-time job at a restaurant William co-owns, almost like he is struggling financially and has a family of his own to take care of. It is also a pretty good explanation as to why William unfavors Michael, if the older brother was the product of a TeenPregnancy from a relationship Michael had in high school (from what we see of Michael, he looks fairly young — say, mid-to-late twenties). This also explains why Michael would have to work at Fredbear's as well and why his children constantly have to go; because the restaurant is owned by their family, so William might as well be the family's ultimate source of financial income, especially since he's running both an animatronic factory and two restaurants. Also puts a spin on the "Afton trying to save his dying son" theory.
* '''Why Sammy is the Puppet... or being a girl for that matter''': In both the books and the games, William's first apparent victim is Henry's child. In the books, it was Sammy, and in the games it was his daughter, who we seem to think is Charlie, who would be an obvious guess. However, when you read between the lines, things get interesting. See, in the books, Charlie just remembered Sammy after years of forgetting what happened. This is also a early childhood memory, and seems to be the most Charlie can remember of Sammy. Sammy is clearly a variation of the name Sam, which can be male or female depending on what the full name is, such as Samantha or Samuel. And it's not like Charlie doesn't go with a male sounding variation of what her full name is (Charlotte). Another thing to not is during Charlie's JackBauerInterrogationTechnique on Springtrap, she demands to know why he took Sammy. Now take note here, Springtrap reacts with confusion and says "I took you", and then you remember that Charlie and Sammy are twins. This implies two things; that William couldn't tell the twins apart, and his mental faculties took a bit of a slippage over the years. Cherry on top is, ever since ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys2'', when we see the child who would be the puppet. It was mostly assumed the child was a boy until this game revealed it to be Henry's daughter. The way I see it, we are building up to a similar twist in the books. There's also the fact that the Puppet, despite being a central figure in the lore of the games, isn't accounted for in the books just yet.
* '''How Henry is still "alive"''': This should be easy. He isn't, or at-least not in the way we expect him to be. While is pretty unanimous that Henry is the Cassette Guy, the factor that Henry is dead in the books means there is a case of SparedByTheAdaptation, right? Not exactly. In a story that features at least one revenant, ghosts, and possession, is it really any stretch of the imagination that Henry could have pulled a BackFromTheDead himself? Especially with him being about as important to the lore as William Afton? While it's possible he could have been FakingTheDead, that explanation doesn't make much sense. Namely, how Henry knew about the souls of the children, and specifically who is who, like the Puppet, Springtrap, and Baby, things that only Charlie and her friends, as well as Michael, were able to find out while the other characters were seemingly blissfully unaware. The simple explanation is that Henry became a ghost-like or undead entity, just like Michael has, which would explain why Henry is working in the shadows. Likewise, it plays on the MissionFromGod idea, considering Henry seemingly knows what's in store for the souls in the afterlife, especially his dear old friend.
* '''Why Michael Afton is not the other night guards''': This theory never made sense to me sense [=MatPat=] coined it. As stated above, it would make sense if ''Sister Location'' was set in the early to mid-eighties, which would effectively make Michael a revenant from that point on. While I agree with the possibility of Michael hunting down and dismantling his father's legacy, as I noted on the Fridge page, I doubt he did so restaurant by restaurant looking like ''that''. While it was also noted on the fridge page, that it's possible Michael has been doing so before ''Sister Location'', that doesn't make much sense since it would seem ''Sister Location'' was the catalyst of Michael's RoaringRampageOfRevenge against William, which would put him in his undead state. This gets especially convoluted when you take into account Jeremy Fitzgerald and Fritz Smith; even if Michael wasn't a walking corpse at this point, we are supposed to believe the SAME guy applied for the SAME job at the SAME location on the SAME week under two DIFFERENT identities and no suspicion was raised? Especially when one of them was moved to day shift? It at least makes a little more sense if Michael was the Fazbear's Fright guard, since he could use his appearance as part of the scenery, since this is a horror attraction (bonus points if he's snarky about it). It makes more sense in ''PS'', considering that the whole thing was a ruse.

* Almost the entirety is jossed because the books aren't canon to the games.
** And not just that, ''Fazbear Frights'' explicitly confirmed Michael was the Older Brother.

* Jossed. As found data in ScottGames and other official websites shows, Ennard ejected her because she has abused and pushed them around one time too many (like deliberately sabotaging Ballora so she'll become part of Ennard against her will). You can clearly see this by "You can't tell us what to do anymore." and "Yes, I can. You will do everything that I tell you to do." Ennard is ''pissed'' not just because of her actions, but also because not only has her plan not worked, it's landed them in a worse position than before.

** Jossing Jossed. Freddy in the Give Cake minigame (Which I believe you're referring to) is brown, and we know that Fredbear, who is gold, came before him. Also, just because it looks like that doesn't necessarily mean its earlier in the timeline. It could simply be another, less detailed Freddy's restaurant. Scott didn't put much details in his minigames back then. Also, your assumption that the Missing Children Incident happened before Baby's opened is quite incorrect and fallacious. Freddy Fazbear's Pizza is said to be closed and Circus Baby's Pizza World stepped in to fill its void shortly after, but Freddy's has closed ''two or three times across the series'': Fredbear's Family Diner closed sometime between the fourth and second games, Freddy Fazbear's closed immediately after the second game to reopen in a new location, and Freddy's closes for good sometime in the 30 years between the first and third games.
