Perhaps Alma thinks Beckett will grow fond of her over time. Perhaps she thinks he'll take responsibility of his child. Perhaps she thinks that LovingForce is plausible. Either way, Alma has her prize. She simply isn't mature enough to realize that it's a hollow and horrible victory and relationship.

but never shows it due to telepathic abilities. Like his new sibling, he knew speech while in the womb and was able to interpret the plan for him as the Psychic Commander Prototype and he didn't want it. Thus, he buried his abilities. A small amount of the power is shunted out through his reflexes and physical abilities (reflexes/Slow-Mo). With the new child, and the need to protect his new sibling/child, his abilities will return at full power, allowing him to pull feats of psychic power equal-to or greater-than Fettel or Becket. This idea, as a note, is something that occurred to me after studying through everything I could find, it strikes me that if Fettel was that powerful his brother would also have had the same abilities, they're nearly identical except for birth order/time and appearance. It's completely possible that the primary difference is that Alma accidentally prevented her second son from concealing his abilities by influencing him from conception to birth and continuing to interact throughout his growth.

[[WMG: Alma's state in FEAR 3 was due to Beckett and the Amplifier]]

The Amplifier on Still Island was supposed to boost Beckett's own psychic power to be able to fight Alma. It managed to actually work, to some degree, as when Beckett fully powered it up, Alma disappeared into a cloud of red light much like she did at the end of FEAR 3 when she "died." Most likely, Beckett did manage to attack Alma while she was... ''using'' him, and this damaged her to a substantial degree, enough so that by the events of FEAR 3, she's been effectively immobilized and weakened. When she finally gives birth, she either disappears or is unable to fight Fettel because of how badly Beckett's psychic counter-attack weakened her.
