After it failed, she decided to continue with the Admissions Party scheme.

to:

With her having just lost her reputation, friends, scholarship and boyfriend, there's nothing more to lose than her life. After it failed, she decided to continue with the Admissions Party scheme.

After coercing her Drea into drugging herself.
herself, she planned to take Drea somewhere nice and cozy and, well, make the rumours true. Drea would have had no idea that Eleanor violated her, and even if she did, she wouldn't have any proof or any allies to help her with her now being a social pariah. Luckily, Eleanor had very sensitive feelings.

[[WMG: The Headmistress is Kathryn Merteuil from Film/CruelIntentions]]
The Headmistress understands Drea due to the fact that she must be perfect to be considered a lady, just like Kathryn did in Film/CruelIntentions. As such, the reason Kathryn doesn’t expel Drea is because she sees a lot of herself as a teenager in Drea. If Kathryn was expelled at the end of Film/CruelIntentions, then perhaps the reason she didn’t expel Drea was because she didn’t want Drea to end up like Kathryn when she has such potential, just like Kathryn did.

The director somewhat confirmed this, stating that she re-wrote the Headmkstress’s lines and dialogue spot seem more like Kathryn Merteuil when Creator/SarahMichelleGellar got cast.
