* [[VideoGame/MortalKombat Johnny Cage]]

[[WMG: [[CreatorBreakdown Ben and Chad are slowly getting sick of Death Battle]]]]
The reason is obvious. They've been getting hate comments and accusations of biased ever since the show aired on the internet. Despite the fame it gets them, they also have to witness various character they loved die one after another (if you think the fanbase's reaction is bad, imagine what it must be like for the hosts to watch their preferred characters lose and get killed). All that only got worse in Season 3, where the match-ups are getting loads of controversy, even by the show's standards, because of how they are dealt or because of the speed they have to go to keep themselves afloat.

Let's be honest with ourselves, underneath the characters they are playing, Wizard and Boomstick, you can somewhat feel the jokes they make are forced and are just used to bring atmosphere to the show. This could be the reason why Season 3's quality is much worser than previous seasons: They've finally given up. They probably realized that people will always complain no matter how they depict the matches, so they basically let the winner come by chance. Research is still used to determine the winner, but to them, it's now more of a way to get broad view of their abilities, less about knowing who should win.

* [[Franchise/StreetFighter Ken Masters]] vs. [[VideoGame/FatalFury Terry Bogard]] - Ken and Terry are two lively guys who can appreciate a good fight, so naturally, they end up coming to blows with one another...but thanks to unchecked escalation, one WorthyOpponent isn't coming out of this one alive.

** Jossed. Scout happened to be pursuing the intruder who stole the intelligence briefcase from his base. When he spotted the intruder who just so happens to be Tracer, he becomes infatuated by Tracer's ass and proceeds to hit on her, prompting Tracer to leave. However when Scout demanded for her to return the briefcase, Tracer refuses and prepares to fight back. In addition, the fight never took place in a standard [=TF2=] map.

They have made unlikely characters win before, but it'd be even funnier if somehow Scout won through sheer luck, either that or actually being able to be a badass. Alternatively...
