[[WMG: The gender of the red blood cells aren't determined by being A vs B antigen, but rather by whether or not they carry the Rh antigen
* If the blood type is +, then there'll be both male and female RBC, but if it's -, then it will only have the gender of the body.
** So if a man had, let's say O- blood, all his RBC would be men. But if he had O+ blood, he'd have men and women RBC.

** The genders of the cells seems to be somewhat arbitrary, though. Some types are female or male only, some are a mix, some seem to be only of one gender but with a few exceptions. With so few humans to compare, this can't really be taken as proof. If anything, the main body is likely to be male, since the buildings that represent the physical structures are inhabited by common cells, who are clones and all look very similar. Additionally, when heard coughing and sneezing in the anime, the body's voice sounds masculine, and does not match the narrator's voice at all.

[[WMG: The red blood cells the body received through the blood transfusion belonged to a different, but compatible blood type.]]
*They have slightly different uniforms and accents to the body's own cells, but the white blood cells don't perceive them as invaders.

** The gender of the white blood cells does support that the main body is female. The Code Black body is male, and has female white blood cells. The main body has male white blood cells, so it's probably female.

[[WMG: The body belongs to [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureStardustCrusaders Noriaki Kakyoin]] in an alternate universe where [[spoiler:he survives the finale.]]]]
* The body is being exposed to so many things in a seemingly short period of time because Kakyoin has been taken out of his usual environment as he and the Joestar group travel across Asia and the Middle East towards Egypt. He nearly dies from massive blood loss at the end due to Dio's attack, but [[spoiler:in this universe, he was effectively treated and survived the injury.]]

* We know for a fact that Code Black takes place in a male body, and that series has a male narrator.

** The [[ https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/199TPzs2bz_qEGcetoG7Vo1cmTLPwVMQP chapter]] has come out and as usual portrayed the virus in a realistic (relatively) way - the effects of the actual virus aren't nearly as dramatic and concerning as the cytokine storm, which is the immune system reacting so strongly it attacks healthy cells and tissues and causes great damage to the body. It's specifically spelled out that even as viral load decreases, the immune cells remain in such a frenzy that it's represented as riots resulting in blood clots and the chance of multiple organ failure.

[[WMG: The host is a soldier.]]
Judging by the amount of germs that get in, their surroundings must be a pretty dirty place. The parasite episode also mentions them eating raw fish, which suggests that they don't always have access to properly cooked food. And yet from the heat stress and hemorrhagic shock episodes, we know that they have some decent doctors looking after them, likely battlefield medics. This also means that the hemorrhagic shock isn't very far fetched, as it was likely a war injury.
* We can even assume that the heat stress was caused by them being deployed in a desert environment.

* Probably not, given that the disease is a viral infection. Far more likely, it would be portrayed as being like a nastier version of influenza, by turning individual cells into zombie-like beings. For bonus points, the [[MeaningfulName corona]]virus would manifest itself as a ''crown'' (or ''wreath'') that gets attached to the cells' heads.
* And while the coronavirus would certainly be treated by the manga/anime as a genuinely serious threat, it would ''not'' be "nigh-invulnerable" nor necessarily an insurmountable problem. The body's immune cells would likely eventually manage to defeat the infection, though not without considerable difficulty.

* And if they want to depict the coronavirus as an [[KnightOfCerebus unusually dangerous enemy]], then perhaps the COVID-zombies would behave somewhat like an evil intelligent HiveMind capable of coherent thoughts and speech, thus acting more similarly to how bacteria are depicted in-universe rather than as the viruses they really are.

They suffer many tropical diseases like malaria, get grievously wounded, possibly by gunshot and get parasites typically associated with lack of modern food storage and preparation.

Doctors and nurses are exposed to all sorts of diseases as they treat patients. That might explain why the host comes into contact with so many different viruses and bacteria.
