If we assume that the Omnitrix is sentient (which is implied many times in the show) then why does it really keep glitching out and randomly giving Ben wrong aliens? There’s many potential reasons that get brought up in tht series, including that it might be some kind of safety protocol designed to save its wearer by giving them the right transformation when needed, while many fans thinks that Omnitrix either just likes screwing with Ben, or wants to teach him to get more creative and versatile with his transformations instead of always relying on just brute strength. Or maybe it's just the Omnitrix's way of punishing Ben whenever he’s acting like a Moron. Think about it: Have you alk noticed that the malfunctions and wrong transformations tend to happen a lot during the LighterAndSofter parts of the franchise (like the Original Series or Omniverse), where Ben is quite prone to [[TookALevelInDumbass take a level in dumbass]] and be a reckless idiot? Also, after that one time when Ben and Kevin tried to hack and modify the Omnitrix during their teenage years in the later seasons, the malfunctions and wrong transformations returned and got even worse after far less frequent for a long while, which could imply that the Omnitrix was really angry at Ben for trying to hack it and wanted to get some payback on him. So, depending on the situation, the wrong transformations could either be the Omnitrix giving Ben the alien he needs instead of the one he wants to help him out, the Omnitrix trolling Ben and just wanting to have some fun with him, or the Omnitrix getting annoyed with Ben and wanting to punish him whenever he’s being a jackass or a moron.

*** Maybe he ''didn’t''. Maybe Azmuth didn’t intend for the Omnitrix to become sentient, and that happened by accident, just like with Eunice. After all, Eunice is basically supposed to be a less-advanced prototype of Omnitrix, so if she could gain sentience, who’s to say that her more advanced "successor" couldn’t do the same? Also, it’s worth pointing out that there’s precedence for the Galvans accidentally creating sentient technology, because that’s exactly how the Galvanic Mechamorphs were created.

In a parallel universe, there is a comic book series named ''Ben 10''. In that universe the creators of the comic are either approached by Creator/CartoonNetwork or put forward the idea themselves to the network. And so the comic receives an cartoon adaptation. And as a tip of the hat to the fact it's a comic, a couple of episodes feature a comic book at its start and end (like how ''Film/{{Superman}}'' features a comic opening at the start of his film). And that's the real reason why we see the comic. However, to our universe it doesn't make sense because Ben 10 started life in our universe as a cartoon rather than comic.

[[WMG: Vilgax unlocked Cannonbolt and Wildvine.]]
More accurately the Exctraction device Vilgax attempts to use on Ben in Secrets, started a process that unlocked them in The Big Tick and Camp Fear, likely, as well as remove it from the host, the device was programmed to code break the Omnitrix, and unlock ''all'' the aliens within, along with the master control, Max inturrupted the device before it was anywhere near done, but it had started the process of unlocking those two samples, resulting in their sudden and unexpected debuts, in contrast to most of the later aliens in the original series, which either Ben scanned (the Halloween trio), or someone else unlocked (Upchuck and Way Big).

* There isn’t enough information to back this up, but the existence of the Unitrix (An Omnitrix core which stores one DNA sample and makes it into a physical version of said species) proves that Azmuth had some concept ideas for the Omnitrix.

As the Ben 10 Wiki points out, the Bodyguards samurai design is similar, and it makes sense that they are likely just a custom variant of the Techadon Robots.
