* Alternatively, Kagura is Amata [[FutureMeScaresMe from the future]], his [[CloningBlues clone]], or something more exotic...

* Isn't Kagura already one? Maybe he'll become [[UpToEleven even more of a]] {{Yandere}}?

The preview for Episode 10 reveals that [[spoiler: Jin infiltrates the Academy posing as a student. While there, he realizes that the people of Vega are NotSoDifferent, or even gets a romantic attraction to one of the students, which eventually convinces him to switch sides.]]

* Kagura is either all or one-half Apollo, except {{Flanderize}}d into a BloodKnight.

* Another explanation as to why Kagura seems to be Apollo {{Flanderize}}d into a BloodKnight. Removing all of his NiceGuy traits left him as a pure warrior with nothing but some vague remnants of his feelings for Sylvia. Which leads to another question: if he's the reincarnation of Apollo, then why does he refer to Sylvia as Sylvie? Shouldn't he remember her actual name? However, Sirius ''did'' refer to Sylvia as Sylvie a couple of times, so it's possible Kagura's past life memories are incomplete. Apollo's certainly were until the end of the series.

Just a hunch, but there's the fact that she's the only non-element among an element user family. Unlike the siblings in GenesisOfAquarion, Mikono and Cayenne look nothing alike. My guess is that she was adopted after being abandoned by [[spoiler: the girl from Amata's past]], who is either her mom or her sister since they look so much alike.

** Why don't we get our minds out of the gutters and remember that, on occasion, two people can be in a vector at once and increase the usual number of people merging. It happened more than once in GenesisOfAquarion and it happened in this series when Amata and Mikono were first pulled into the series' titular HumongousMecha.

At the end of ''GenesisOfAquarion'', [[spoiler:Touma makes peace with humanity and sacrifices himself to save the world.]] Mykage, on the other hand, is a complete psychopath, so it doesn't exactly follow that they're the same person.

** Now that Shrade openly calls Cayene his friend, the above suggestion seems to have gone out the window. After all, the only time we've actually seen Shrade openly [[CurbStompBattle curb-stomp]] Cayene was after Cayene barged into his room and started wailing on Amata for no apparent reason. You don't need to hate someone to think of that as a good reason to subdue them.

* Mykage is either Touma or Otoha. Otoha makes more sense, considering Touma's self-sacrifice. [[spoiler: It looks like Mykage has some kind of XanatosGambit to try and find the original Aquarion by using Kagura as a pawn.]]

I mean, think about it, how does a show with an omnipresent all-but-explicit sex motif get the kind of budget and hype that the original Aquarion did? Going further, the original Aquarion neither sold well nor received very good reviews. Why would studio execs greenlight a sequel if there wasn't big money backing it? And who in Japan's infamously conservative society would financially back a series that basically encourages teens to have sex? The only explanation is that someone, either the studio itself or, more likely, the source of the money backing it, is trying to get all of Japan to form babby.

* Isn't Kagura already one? Maybe he'll become [[ItGotWorse even more]] [[BeyondTheImpossible of a]] {{Yandere}}?

* Series 1 establishes that different souls cannot be combined. A given soul can be split, but two disparate souls cannot be combined. Amata is Pollon's wings, Kagura is Pollon's body (the director actually stated this in an interview). Even in series 1, Rena even mentions she is there to determine whether Apollo is the "Wings of the Sun" (Amata) or the "Beast of Darkness" (Kagura).

* Despite his extreme MoralMyopia, [[EvenEvilHasLovedOnes Mykage truly cares for Kagura and Amata]], and wasn't able to rescue the latter because he is slowly dying due to the Curse of Eve (this explains a lot, really). Kawamori intended him to be sympathetic, though this obviously failed because the scenes explaining his motivations were ''cut out'' due to conflict with the writer.

* [[spoiler: Sadly, this is {{Jossed}}. Amata acted like his usual spineless and wimpy self and forgave his parents for ''[[OffingTheOffspring leaving him to die on the streets]]'' and treating his twin/soulmate, Kagura, like a RedHeadedStepchild. That's not including [[MoralEventHorizon the warcrimes mentioned above]], nor the fact that ''[[EpicFail Izumo's family is directly responsible for everything that went wrong on Altair and Vega]]''. Alicia and Izumo gave up their right to be Amata's parents a ''long'' time ago. Even Mykage, ''[[ShadowArchetype a living manifestation of pure hatred and jealousy]] [[MoralEventHorizon who kills people seemingly at random over the flimsiest of pretenses on a regular basis]]'', [[EpicFail is a better parent than they could ever hope to be.]]]]

** This also brings up a point about the original/Legendary Aquarion. [[spoiler: Apollonius hasn't been shown as being in there yet. He showed up first thing when Apollo plopped into the pilot seat, but no sign of him with Kagura there.]]
