Some of this was not accurate, apparently due to pre-release promotional material becoming outdated. Now that the game is out, it's easy to see what made the final cut.

that can restore proper life back to your people.this game has openly borrowed some of the basic mechanics, such as doing battle on an 8x8 grid against enemies that telegraph their attacks. However, there are several key distinctions as well.

* ActionPet: In addition to the Hero units, there are also various "Pet" characters, such as a trained dog and panda bear. Their moves tend to be more utility-focused than damaged-focused, but are still valuable for combatting the undead horde; the dog, for example, can pull any unit one square back, helpful for getting an ally out of the way or pulling an enemy into the line of fire ([[SuperDrowningSkills or directly into a river]]).
* ArbitraryHeadcountLimit: At most, the player can only bring three Hero units and one Pet unit into a battle. If the mission is to recruit a new Hero or Pet, they will also be playable in that mission, but the player will never control more than five units at once.
* ArbitraryMissionRestriction: Every mission can award up to three Stars for completion; one for clearing the battle, and the other two for accomplishing a specific mission during the battle, such as preventing anyone from being knocked out or damaging an enemy with a trap located on the battlefield. When Lyndal's caravan encounters a merchant, these Stars can then be exchanged for permanent power-ups like increased movement range or a more powerful special ability.
