* [[NotIfTheyEnjoyedItRationalization Not If They Can't Remember It Rationalization]]: Not-so-subtly implied by O'Hagan; Westbury does "unpleasant things" to 1213, but she doesn't do anything about it because 1213 won't remember it, so it's better to just let Westbury use him as an outlet for his stress in the hope that it'll help his mental health.

Added DiffLines:

* AbhorrentAdmirer: Westbury to 1213, to the point that when 1213 has a massive hallucination, he sees a vision of Westbury's glasses as a monster. Some of Westbury's dialogue implies a twisted affection and a deep-seated obsession, too. [[spoiler: He begs 1213 to acknowledge him and at the end, tries to reconcile. And then there's O'Hagan's reports, one of which implies that Westbury abuses 1213 sexually.]]

Added DiffLines:

* ReplacementGoldfish: To Westbury, 1213 to 1108. He viewed 1108 as an intellectual peer and was apparently very partial to him, but he died. [[spoiler: It probably didn't help matters that both patients are identical, being clones of the same man. There's plenty of evidence to suggest that Westbury's obsession with and abuse of 1213 is rooted in his grief and attraction to 1108.]]

* CorruptCorporateExecutive: In a sense, Westbury.
** Otherwise subverted by Westbury's [[spoiler:''downright hatred'' of these sorts of people and how they go about doing things - this is the entire basis of his MotiveRant. When Petrovitch asks Westbury "Do you know how much that costs?!?" when 1213 destroys the final boss, Westbury ''snaps'', and shoots the poor guy in the head. Westbury ''despises'' bureaucrats. In fact, in the Special Edition commentary, Yahtzee makes a point that this [[PrecisionFStrike piece of dialogue has the only example of profanity in the game to demonstrate how absolutely pissed off he is]].]]

** Petrovich himself has a bit of CorruptCorporateExecutive about him. Who else would care so much about equipment costs when [[spoiler: the last living humans]] are suffering from a ZombieApocalypse?

* MotherlyScientist: O'Hagan. And, in his own twisted way, possibly Westbury.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: By generally shooting everything that moves, 1213's considered a threat by the crew of the facility, which is a damned shame, considering what his purpose is...

* TakeThat: In the second episode, Croshaw included a "sprint" function, which allows 1213 to run faster at the risk of making his heart explode, by request of the fan-base. He then did not include a single puzzle in the game that requires the faster speed imparted by the sprint function.

Somewhat inspired by ''Flashback'' with some ''SystemShock'' thrown in for good measure, ''1213'' is an action-adventure platformer complete with gun combat. Not bad for a game engine specifically ''designed'' for point-and-click adventure games. The title character, 1213, manages to escape the cell in which he has lived for as long as he can remember (which isn't that far back) into something much worse.
