You can barely outrun the competition and they will always be nipping at your heels regardless of what happens to them (although the rubber band only seems to go one way since if they get a good lead you probably won't see them again; borders on TheComputerIsACheatingBastard). Storyline missions err more towards ItsEasySoItSucks (as long as you do the various world challenges and do decently at them, your car level will rise a lot faster than the game's requirements would have you spec your vehicle).
