As for the rest of the play, it's pretty much exactly like ''Super Mario World'', with the Fire Flower replaced by a Miko Suit and the cape replaced by a broom. Oh, right, and Rumia is playing the role of Yoshi, for some reason. There's no English patch, but the only dialogue is before and after boss fights, anyway. If you ''must'' know what was being said, you can find a transcript [[http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Super_Marisa_World/Dialogue here]].

*** Actually, it's shorter. This game only has Kaguya use the Impossible Requests - there is no usage of nonspells or the last spells. (Though it is justified in the case of the latter, since they were explicitly her using her ability, which she does not need to use here)

''Super Marisa World'' is a ''VideoGame/{{Touhou}}''/''{{Mario}}'' mashup, using the former's characters and the latter's mechanics. Of course, this being ''Touhou'', there are naturally a lot more things [[BulletHell shooting at you]] than in most platformers, especially during boss battles. Contrary to the name, ''VideoGame/SuperMarioWorld'' is not the only Mario game referenced--boss battles are based off of battles from [[VideoGame/SuperMarioBros the original]], ''[[VideoGame/SuperMarioBros3 3]]'', ''[[VideoGame/SuperMarioWorld World]]'', ''[[VideoGame/YoshisIsland World 2]]'', ''[[VideoGame/SuperMarioLand Land]], [[VideoGame/SuperMarioLand2 Land 2]]'', ''VideoGame/DrMario'', and despite being a 3D game, ''[[VideoGame/SuperMarioSunshine Sunshine]]''. Of course, this is only a loose guide, as many of these battles seem a bit more...''Touhou''-like.

* UnexpectedGameplayChange: Eirin, being the pharmacist, has a boss battle that's based on Dr. Mario. Actually, it's still platforming, but it's a definite PuzzleBoss. Flandre, on the other hand, is based not on a Mario game, but on ''Wrecking Crew''.
** ...but Wrecking Crew is a Mario game...(pre-Super Mario Bros., but a Mario game nonetheless.)

* BestBossEver: Kaguya, for being [[BulletHell truest to the ZUN-made games.]]
** For Mario fans, the Merupo battle is awesome simply because it's [[TheUnfought the one thing they always wanted to kill and never got to]]: [[NightmareFuel that goddamned "angry" sun from World 2 of]] ''VideoGame/SuperMarioBros3''.
** Not entirely true because the angry sun CAN be killed with a turtle shell.

!!This game provides examples of:
* BestBossEver: Kaguya, for being [[BulletHell truest to the ZUN-made games.]]
** For Mario fans, the Merupo battle is awesome simply because it's [[TheUnfought the one thing they always wanted to kill and never got to]]: [[NightmareFuel that goddamned "angry" sun from World 2 of]] ''VideoGame/SuperMarioBros3''.
** Not entirely true because the angry sun CAN be killed with a turtle shell.
* BlackoutBasement: The battle with Mystia, of course.
* BulletHell: Yes, it's a PlatformGame, but it's still ''VideoGame/{{Touhou}}'' through and through. This means that it will be both cute and filled with projectiles.
* ColorCodedForYourConvenience: The {{mook}}s are all just fuzz-balls, but in a variety of colors (and sizes, but some are the same size, while no two types share a color), corresponding to different enemy types from the Mario games.
* DamselInDistress: Patchouli. [[spoiler:Subverted at the end--the entire adventure was actually Patchouli's magic experiment.]]
* DeadpanSnarker: Marisa
* [[{{Fanime}} Fan Game]]
* TheGoomba: White fuzzballs.
* GuideDangIt: Merupo's level; 6-2-3 (based on a similar puzzle often encountered in Bowser's Castle), 7-2-3 (a really, ''really'' gigantic labyrinth).
* InvincibilityPowerUp: Rumia.
* LampshadeHanging: Most of Marisa's conversations with the bosses reference ''Touhou'' {{fanon}}, or occasionally {{canon}}.
* NintendoHard: Oh so very, very much.
* PuzzleBoss: Flandre, Merupo, Eirin
* ThemeMusicPowerUp: A remix of ''Apparitions that stalk the night'' that plays whenever you get Rumia.
** ''[[UnexpectedShmupLevel Completely]]'' [[UnexpectedShmupLevel Expected Shmup Level]]: Kaguya's level is based on ''VideoGame/SuperMarioLand'' 4-3. Which was an UnexpectedShmupLevel. This means that the battle with Kaguya is pretty much just a side-scrolling version of her ''Imperishable Night'' incarnation.
*** Actually, it's shorter. This game only has Kaguya use the Impossible Requests - there is no usage of nonspells or the last spells. (Though it is justified in the case of the latter, since they were explicitly her using her ability, which she does not need to use here)
