On a faraway planet, there were a small inhabited island. The local people had been worshipping the Singular Stone since ancient times. However, suddenly [[AlienInvasion a fleet of alien spaceships]] appeared and snatched the Stone away, unaware that they had unknowingly split the crystal containing the Prime Guardian, [[Music/HatsuneMiku Miku]]. The half of the crystal turned into a mentally unstable entity called [[MagmaMan Magma Miku]] and starting a rampage spree, destroying the aliens' fleet in the process. Now it's up to the Guardians to stop the entity before the planet is destroyed.

** Many areas of the South Coast area is only accessible with Rin's flight ability, which unlocked at level 9 and requires her Level 2 Skill Stone. The area also had Miku's Level 2 Skill Stone

** the lone orange Skyfish in the Canyon, when it's not snowy. It moves very fast, has high HP, and deal a lot of damage especially for early game. There's even a set of platforms specifically designed to avoid it.
** One of the Floating Rocks in the room accessible near the Canyon's portal to North Lake has defense stat on par with endgame enemies. If you "kill" it, it transform into Will-O-Wisp, a very powerful enemy that can deal ''9999'' damage, the highest damage in the whole game.
* CharacterSelectForcing: You practically need to use Meiko to get Rin's Level 2 Skill Stone in the East Forest. You need to fight a {{Dual Boss}} whose area entrance are underwater. Meiko's Air Ball is easily found at North Lake using Luka. For the boss battle, only Meiko could deal major damage to the bosses at that point.
* ClassicalElementsEnsemble: Except Miku, each of the characters are assigned as a guardian of an element. Meiko is the [[PlayingWithFire Fire Guardian]], Kaito is the [[DishingOutDirt Earth Guardian]] , Luka is the [[MakingASplash Sea Guardian]], [[spoiler: and both of Rin and Len are the [[BlowYouAway Wind Guardians]]]].
* CriticalHitClass: Rin's critical hit damage multiplier increases much faster than everyone else. This allows her to reach the maximum damage multiplier far earlier and deals a lot of damage when lands a crit. That being said, her base attack and critical hit ''chance'' are rather low, at least until level 20s.

** In the West Ocean area, the second part of the deep sea portion is only accessible from North Lake. You need to find the Airball item for Len, since one of the portals is blocked.
** A small room containing the Accelerator for Kaito is only accessible from a portal in the Volcano, the final area of the game.
* ExperienceBooster: the Accelerator items doubles amount of XP gained from killing enemies.
* FunWithAcronyms: the Demon of Parallel Existence boss is also known as D.O.P.E.
* HealingSpring : Recovery Fountains found at some areas can restores your current character to full HP.
* KamehameHadouken: At higher levels, Meiko gained this ability as ranged attack.

* LiteralSplitPersonality: the aliens accidentally splits Miku's crystal into two, causing her to become two separate entities. One is mentally unstable and become the [[LargeHam hammy]] Magma Miku who going to triggers massive volcanic eruption, while the another become Snow Miku who is playable.
* PrehensileHair: Miku attacks enemies by impaling them with her hardened hair. Her attack range is the shortest from all characters, but has fast attack rate and damages all enemies in its reach.
* SuperDrowningSkills: All characters who don't have the Air Ball item took constant 1/4 damage of their max HP if they entered deep water bodies.
