The protagonist is a travelling, [[TheAtoner atoning]] {{Ronin}} [[spoiler:trained in a DangerousForbiddenTechnique]], their charge is a {{Tsundere}} noble with magical talent, they encounter a rash brawler and a beautiful doctor involved in the Yakuza, and so on. They all do manage to be original, and the protagonist especially can be shaped in a variety of ways.

* ShipTease: There aren't any full-blown romance arcs yet, but the player can flirt with any of their companions if they match their sexual orientation. They're also visibly DistractedByTheSexy at [[spoiler:the vision of Masashi/Masami [[SheIsAllGrownUp as an adult]].

* {{Yandere}}: The years have not been kind to your character's first love Jun/Junko, who comes across like this in his/her hunt for your character.

* BodyguardCrush: Masami/Masashi appears to have one on the protagonist, if their {{Tsundere}} behaviour and attempts to prove themselves are anything to go by. May also qualify for a PrecociousCrush as well, as their actual age is somewhat unclear.

Samurai of Hyuga is a ChooseYourOwnAdventure game written by Devon Connell and is hosted by ChoiceOfGames.

The game is set in the nation of Hyuga, an {{Expy}} of Japan, with the player taking on the role of a {{Ronin}}-turned-bodyguard with a DarkAndTroubledPast. Taking on the job of protecting an young Shungenja, the player quickly finds themselves embroiled in a much larger war.
