* DevelopersForesight:
** If you don't have enough money to pay the cabs, the drivers get angry and battle you. There are several different designs with several different dialogues even though almost no one will be short enough on cash for this to happen.
** The Pokémon Storage System gives you a maximum of 30 boxes during the main game, but after catching the version legendary, it's increased to 31. Why? Well, in the ''incredibly'' unlikely event you've managed to fill all 30 boxes by that point, you'll still have someplace to put your new legendary (or, more likely, whoever you sent to the PC to make room for it)
** The player character can stand in the spot that the Mystery Gift woman would appear in a Pokémon Center before he or she redeems a Mystery Gift. The woman will cleanly appear upon loading the game one square left of where she would usually be. If the player redeems the Diancie event, the following cutscene proceeds without glitches.
** There's placeholder data in case Nintendo somehow forgets to give to give a Wonder Card its event title.
** Hacking the game allows you to obtain the exact same Floette [[spoiler: AZ had]], complete with the fact that it has its very own signature move based upon the flower it's holding. Normally, it simply looks like a darker-colored shiny Floette, but it does have its own unique Shiny form if you were to hack it to be like that.

* ChurchOfHappyology: Team Flare are an obvious one, to the point where it is surprising Nintendo allowed it. They have to pay large sums of money to join the group, describe themselves as scientists despite bearing no resemblance to the scientist class, are heard trying to memorize mantras like "There are no real absolutes", seem completely convinced that the group is the only future and everyone else is doomed. The members are described as being cult-like early on - one NPC even says that a friend of a friend turned joined the group and went out for lunch with him and wouldn't stop talking about it being the future (which is something that happens often in real life).They also speak in very childish manners like "I'm mad now" which is something church members always say when they feel someone is attacking their religion. Their main aspirations are invading all the big companies and historic buildings, and blackmailing people into selling them to them. Also, the battle sprites for them have them looking like they are hypnotized and brainwashed. Previous Team Rockets were obvious takes on Mafia groups, but Team Flare is something noticeably different.

* ActionMom: The player's mother, Grace, is a former Rhyhorn racer, instead of just a homemaker like previous versions. Her Rhyhorn is even outside your house, and it's known the player since they were born! Professor Sycamore chose them to help him out because he heard that she had just moved into the region.

* BystanderSyndrome: You are able to invoke this trope in Geosenge Town [[spoiler: after Team Flare activates the Ultimate Weapon that not only is going cause a lot of destruction, but will absorb all the life force of the residents in Route 10]], where Phil the Photo Guy still offers his services. Yes, you can take a picture in ''front of'' ''[[spoiler:a goddamn world-ending nuke]]''. Overlaps with LostForever, since [[spoiler:the Ultimate Weapon gets destroyed. * LostForever
** Like the 4th and 5th generations, there are periodic events allowing players to acquire rare Pokémon and/or items, although you are actually allowed to trade them outside of the global trade center; the first XY event is a special Torchic with its hidden ability ''and'' possessing the item needed to unlock Blaziken's Mega Evolution (which is otherwise unobtainable in-game). Just like with most event Pokémon, many players are trading the Torchic to another game copy, then starting the game over to stockpile more and more Torchics with the Mega Stone.
** The stones for the Geosenge Town Photo Spot. Before the event happens, you can take a photo in front of the stones. Once the ultimate weapon sprouts, you can't get a photo in front of the rocks anymore, and once it's [[spoiler:destroyed, the photo backdrop will be a smoldering crater instead]].

* BetterToDieThanBeKilled: Wild Litwick in the Lost Hotel will sometimes knock themselves out with Memento when you're trying to catch them. Their oddly delighted expression when they faint makes it look like they're saying, "Ha ha, you didn't catch me! I win!"

** An NPC mentions an item called a "Shalour Sable", which is a cookie that acts as a Full Heal. It was probably removed because the Lumiose Galette does the same thing. In the Trick House in ''Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire'', you can get a few Shalour Sables in one of the puzzles, and they can also be given as a gift from contest audience.
