''Pokemon Coral'' is a rom hack by Coraldev based on ''[[VideoGame/PokemonGoldAndSilver Pokemon Crystal]]'', first released in 2017. The game intends to provide an experience that feels like playing the original games for the first time, with the new region of Onwa, creators from the first seven generations, and plenty of discoveries. It also has lots of gameplay tweaks to make the experience feel more modern and comfortable, like the physical/special split, running shoes, and HM moves no longer needing to be taught to Pokemon to be usable.

** Speaking of old women, this troper found the old lady in Daybreak to be perfectly positioned to block any would-be grinder from having a smooth return to the Pokemon Center in a single press of the directional pad. Instead, one must circle around her.

!!This game provides examples of:
* BalanceBuff: Due to being featured more prominently, Corsola's stats have been raised slightly, though the buff was later relegated to the Coral Shard item.
* BigEater: A guy in the cafe complains that he always overeats.
* BrokenWinLossStreak: Cooltrainer Sally battles you in hopes of keeping her winning streak going. After beating her, she laments that she was at 19 wins in a row before you came along.
* CaptainObvious: A guy tells you that Pokemon will attack in tall grass, even though you likely had it happen already. He even admits it.
* CharacterCustomisation: You can select one of seven colors for the playable character's clothes.
* ChestMonster: Picking the left path in a cave looks like it leads to an item, but it turns into the Master of Disguise who battles you shortly.
* ConsoleCameo: There is an SNES in your room. The game states it has a game with [[Franchise/{{Kirby}} a pink puff eating everything in its path]].
* MagikarpPower: An old man and his grandson in the Daybreak Village Pokemon Center mention that weak Pokemon can turn much stronger, which is why the latter named his Ledyba Crusher.
* MsFanservice: Leilani, the Gym Leader of Sunbeam Island, who is described as the brutal beauty and wears only a bikini and a skirt. Her appearance is good even for an 8-bit sprite, but she's concerned that being beautiful is everything people see in her.
* NPCRoadblock: Some Pikipek who are being fed by an old woman block the road east of Glint City until you progress enough.
* TheRival: Your rival picks the stronger starting Pokemon and is very competitive, but also hasty, as he forgets to take the Pokedex with him and then blames you for it, starting a battle.
* SarcasmFailure: A guy at the toll booth mocks you for not having money to buy an Island Pass, suggesting you call your mommy to get one. As it turns out when you call her, she has one already, and you have to get back home to get it.
* SmartPeopleWearGlasses: Stanley graduated top of the class in Daybreak Village Trainer School and wears thick glasses.
* StarterMon: At the beginning, you can pick one of the Gen I and Gen II starters. The others pick remaining ones not from the generation you selected.
* TemptingFate: A guy sitting in Starglow Valley complains that he'd like to see something happen. You can first talk to him when team Snare Grunts attack.
* VideoGameCaringPotential: Picking the right path in a cave lets you talk to a guy who hasn't talked to anyone for a while. He thanks you and gives you a Nugget.
* VisibleSilence: The rival can only respond with ellipses when asked for his excuse for the long wait.
* WarmUpBoss: Stanley, the first Gym Leader with a Lv. 11 Smeargle and a Lv. 15 Ditto. They're not particularly dangerous, though the latter is a battle of attrition.
* WouldHitAGirl: A Team Snare Grunt is seen hitting a girl's mother in Starglow Valley.
