* BilingualBonus: The dialogue's TranslationConvention (see below) is kind of redundant if you already speak French, Greek, Hindi, etc.
* EasyLogistics: Averted. Villages can only expand and upgrade their buildings with materials they actually have on hand, and are almost never completely self-sufficient, meaning the player has to do a lot of hauling of materials. Merchants can provide villages with materials from elsewhere, ''really slowly''.
* EveryJapaneseSwordIsAKatana: Averted. The melee weapon for the Japanese culture is the [[ShownTheirWork period-appropriate]] ''tachi'' instead of the more famous ''katana''.
* IntrepidMerchant: Two kinds. "Local merchants" wander around and trade between villages that are friendly to each other, making it slightly easier to obtain resources that a village can't make themselves. "Foreign merchants" show up randomly at villages that have built marketplaces, sell goods out of a stall for a day or two, and then despawn.
* KnightInShiningArmor: One of the perks of funding a Norman village is that they will eventually start selling you some seriously impressive (equivalent to diamond-level) Norman Armor.
* TranslationConvention: All of the cultures in the game speak different languages, with the words increasingly replaced by English as the player learns the language through exposure.

Millenaire is a GameMod for Minecraft that was one of the most popular back in the Beta days. The mod has a simple premise - random villages will spawn with people in them based off of real-world old cultures.

It soon gets more complicated, however. The villagers can, with proper resources, build temples, farms, and new houses. If the player sells them the items they need, they will expand the village block by block. For example, it may seem like a waste to give them all this stone now, but it'll be worth it since it's the only way to get corn from the farm they build.

Aside from the quest to build up their village, there's also a storyline that details why these people are here. Supposedly, their villages were whisked away from Earth and put on Minecraftia, and you must help them learn about the world.
