* BoobyTrap: Present all over the place in one late game location. These range from bombs hanging off the ceiling by a thread, to bombs hidden in derelict cars, to bombs hidden [[GenreSavvy in places a person might hide]], or taut chains that when disturbed cause pieces of masonry to fall, cause SpikesOfDoom top pop up from the floor or trigger an arrow trap. While these can seriously hurt an incautious player, a canny one can turn them into an opportunity to get points for some indirect kills.

* ActionCommands: Used whenever the player character preforms a [[BackStab Stealth Kill]] or picks a pocket. The player must press the initiating button again, accompanied by pressing the indicated direction on the thumbstick. They only have a second or so to react. Failure to execute this properly will not cause [[IncrediblyLamePun failure to execute]], but it will be a much messier and nosier incident, resulting in less points and potentially alerting others. * GhostRun: You gain an achievement, [[CaptainObvious Ghost]], for managing to go through an entire level undetected and without killing any guards. This can be profoundly difficult without the Path Of Silence armor, which allows you to run without generating noise, and carry two stealth items. Even with the Path Of Silence armor, this is extremely challenging, even in the first level, and best saved until you've got some extremely effective gear (like remote detonated noisemakers and the cardboard box).

* FogOfWar: A rare non-strategy game use of this trope. You can't directly see anything that your ninja is unable to see. Guys behind doors or on different floors become invisible, but you do see visible indicators of the sound of their footsteps so you can get an idea where they are, and later a type of sixth sense that lets you see through walls. NewGamePlus vastly increases the fog of war so you can't even see anything your ninja has his back to.
