* GameplayAndStorySegregation: When you fight [[spoiler: The Masked Man]], if you have Boney sniff him, it'll say "But he didn't smell anything." Normally this would be something to just dismiss given that he's a Boss and usually this'll be said of them when you try to do this, but when you know [[spoiler: the Masked Man's true identity]], it becomes painfully obvious and odd that Boney [[spoiler: should've recognized one of his old Family members.]]

* PosthumousCharacter: Hinawa, killed at the beginning of the game, is the one who actually stops [[spoiler:Lucas and Claus (mostly Claus) from fighting each other and his main motivation for killing himself is to see her again.]] Also, Chapter 6 is all about Lucas's memories of his mother and chasing her through a field of flowers, [[MaybeMagicMaybeMundane which could be a dream or not.]]

** The Final Battle definitely counts. It's not the usual "attack the Final Boss until they're dead" to win the fight, but instead [[spoiler:it has Lucas refusing to attack his Brother and Hinawa constantly trying to reach out to Claus that breaks him free from Porky's control and ends the fight.]]

* YouCannotGraspTheTrueForm: In series tradition, the FinalBoss, (though this time, it's [[spoiler:Porky]]) using this for all attacks. Unlike before, there are different phrases for different attack, and one attack (PSI Counter) is comprehensible.

Each of these phrases imply that it's either Porky doing...something, or his spider machine attacking the party.
