Gameplay remains similar to previous installments (namely ''[[VideoGame/KirbyAndTheAmazingMirror Amazing Mirror]]'', minus the {{Metroidvania}} gameplay), with the addition of the touch screen (aka Kirby's [[StomachOfHolding stomach]]) acting as the inventory for the titular pink puffball to store items in. In addition, new Copy Abilities are introduced. Those being [[TunnelKing Animal]], [[BubbleGun Bubble]], [[ExtraOreDinary Metal]] and [[OurGhostsAreDifferent Ghost]][[note]] only unlockable if you managed to get all parts of the mysterious Ghost Medal, which summons a midboss so you can inhale it for the ability[[/note]].
