* ThirdPersonShooter: The Deathly Hallows games are essentially this with wands in place of guns, leading to Fan Nicknames like Gears of Potter or Call of Potter: Modern Wizardry. Part 1 also had three kinds of exploding potion bottles in place of hand grenades, though they were removed from the sequel for balancing reasons.

* Bowdlerise: Molly Weasley's line, "Not my daughter, you bitch!" is missing the last two words in the game.

* HeelFaceTurn: Draco gives Harry his wand during the climax, a moment that was a invokedDeletedScene in the actual movie. This moment did not occur in the novel either, meaning the video game is, in fact, the only version of Deathly Hallows in which Draco receives an explicit redemption.

Both games dispense with the WideOpenSandbox approach, which certainly would have been difficult to reconcile with the storyline of the last two films, what with Part 1 featuring the trio on the run and Part 2 just being one big battle. Instead, both games are essentially realized as Third-Person Shooters with wands in place of guns. Also, Part 1 has exploding potion bottles used like hand grenades.

A handful of the film actors opted to voice their characters for the Deathly Hallows games, most notably Creator/RupertGrint, Creator/MatthewLewis, Creator/EvannaLynch, Creator/WarwickDavis, and Creator/TobyJones. Despite having voiced their characters for previous games, Creator/RalphFiennes and Creator/BonnieWright did not do so this time. And for whatever reason, Creator/TomFelton voiced Draco Malfoy for the Part 1 game but not for Part 2.

* ColonCancer: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1: The Video Game
* MasterOfUnlocking: Hermione in the Hallows, Part 2 game.
* StandardFPSGuns: The second Deadly Hallows game essentially converts all attack spells to this, ignoring their canonical effects for the sake of (relative) balance. The Expeliarmus spell is equivalent to a pistol, Petrificus Totalus is an overpowered sniper rifle, etc. with one spell even acting as self-guiding missile launcher that can break through (some) walls. One wonders why the Death Eaters even bother with Avada Kedavra …
