* Expy: The series as a whole is heavily influenced by Mika Akitaka's "Mobile Suit Girls" artworks, with Yuna herself being based on the Gundam F91 girl.

* DestructiveSavior: Yuna's battles with other girls tend to end in surprisingly high amounts of collateral damage. Lampshaded in the very first scene of the first game after the intro, as Yuna's wondering how she'll show her face around the neighborhood when she'd destroyed several houses.

* IKnowMaddenKombat: A few of Yuna’s enemies-turned-friends base their combat styles and tactics around favorite sports they practice: Ako and Mako (Ping-Pong), Mai (Golf), Mami (Softball), Midori (Figure Skating), Rui (Soccer) and Serika (Go-Kart Racing).

* DreadfulMusician: Played with. In the first game at least, a few characters note that Yuna's singing isn't all that great. However, when paired with the right song, she shines.

* Hypocrite: Mari becomes enraged when she sees Yuna has accidentally trampled upon a flower, but Elner points out that Mari has trod upon several flowers already. Mari claims that she's a friend to the flowers and they love it when she treads on them, but Yuna's not buying it.

Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

I Have The High Ground is no longer a trope

* IHaveTheHighGround: Polylina loves doing this, but then, she's virtually Tuxedo Kamen's opposite-sex Expy counterpart. Other characters do this from time to time as well.
