** A great deal of E.D.F. vehicles and weaponry use revolver chambers, no matter how impractical. One of the extremes is the Revolver Cannon, which is essentially a giant revolver attached to a mecha's arm.

** Some of the more agile enemies are hard to hit unless you are firing on them at point blank range.
** Many enemies will rush up to the player at point blank and blast them with concentrated weapons fire. Even the bombardment Hector Robots will fire off point blank plasma shots into players.

** For the Ranger and Fencer, there's a reason to have them as a secondary gun - these weapons pack heavy damage with rapid-fire and can be found in lower difficulties/stages. Unfortunately since these classes don't have reactors to recharge them on the battlefield, they can't reload.
** The Wing Diver has a reactor on her back to fuel her jetpack, and this lets her charge her guns on-site. While her early equipment are so-so, her higher-end firepower do tremendous damage per shot and can seriously mess up large groups of enemies without burning through her ammo supply too quickly.

This includes two different varities of smaller dragons by colour but also giant "mutant enemy wasps that are larger red versions that have been beefed up in speed, attack, and health.
** The various enemies in "Time of the Mutants" DLC has several stronger palette swapped enemies. Examples include Silver Spiders, Gold Ants, Green Ants, Purple Retarius, and other coloured enemy variants. Mutant enemies encountered in the main game also appear as do PaletteSwapped KingMook examples.

* AwesomeButImpractical: A few weapons can fire large enemy beams with great destructive power but cannot be reloaded on the field. This is due to them [[AllThereInTheManual requiring whole power facilities]] just to recharge one gun, that can maybe fire for 12 seconds on one charge.

* ArtificialStupidity: AI Wing Divers like to repeatedly jet up in the same location to the point of ''running out of energy.''
** Your fellow EDF soldiers also have a distressing habit of walking or flying in front of you at the perfect time to end up point-blanking yourself with a powerful mortar, with predictably infuriating results.
