* AdaptationExpansion: In order to justify the animal mooks inside the castle's west wing, ''Roar of the Beast'' explains in an introductory cutscene that, after a sudden storm, "enchanted animals" (which include bats, snakes, rats, a bear and a boar) have flocked to the castle.
* AnotherSideAnotherStory: ''Roar of the Beast'' is a loose retelling of the movie's story with the focus on the Beast, while ''Belle's Quest'' retells the story from Belle's POV.
* BearsAreBadNews: The first mini-boss is a large brown bear.

* FourLegsGoodTwoLegsBetter: The Beast can walk on all fours, as well as assume a bipedal stance. This does not affect gameplay at all, but it is easy to hit the floor-level enemies like this.
* FullBoarAction: The boss of stage 1, whose battle occurs in the room with the enchanted rose, is a large red-furred boar.
* ItsAllUpstairsFromHere: In the last stage, the Beast has to climb up the rooftops of his castle to reach Gaston.

* TheLostWoods: Stage 3 takes place in the Snow-covered woods, where the Beast must protect Belle from danger.
* RooftopConfrontation: The second-to-last stage is the battle with Gaston atop the castle.
