''Conception: Ore no Kodomo wo Undekure'' (meaning "Please give birth to my child") was developed by Creator/SpikeChunsoft, formerly Spike, with characters were designed by Creator/ShinichirouOtsuka, and released in 2012 for the UsefulNotes/PlayStationPortable, [[NoExportForYou exclusively in Japan.]] It gained little attention in the west. Regardless, the sequel, ''VideoGame/Conception2ChildrenOfTheSevenStars'' did see an international release, being published by Creator/{{Atlus}} in the west for every version sans the PC version, and gaining [[CultClassic a cult following]] among JRPG fans. Eventually, the first game would be [[TheAnimeOfTheGame adapted into an anime]] that aired in the fall of 2018. Produced by Creator/{{Gonzo}} and licensed by Creator/{{Funimation}}, the series is available to watch legally on Crunchyroll [[https://www.crunchyroll.com/conception here]] and on Funimation's website [[https://www.funimation.com/shows/conception/ here]]

In 2019, Spike Chunsoft released a [[UpdatedRerelease remastered version]] of the first game entitled ''Conception PLUS: Maidens of the Twelve Stars'' (likely a nod to the [[VideoGame/Conception2ChildrenOfTheSevenStars second game's]] title). Unlike the original release, this version was released internationally on the UsefulNotes/PlayStation4 and UsefulNotes/{{Steam}}, with most of the original content intact.

One thing of note is that the characters were designed by Shinichirou Otsuka (of ''LightNovel/ReZero'' fame).

Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

* CharacterExaggeration: Mana's sexual deviancy is ramped UpToEleven in the anime, to the point she actually sexually assaults both Itsuki and Mahiru. (The worst thing she ever did in the game, outside of making inappropriate comments, was [[PervertedSniffing sniff Mahiru to determine that she was a virgin.]])
