The world was ravaged in the past by an EldritchAbomination that nearly drove humanity to extinction, and even after it was defeated it left most of the world poisoned and uninhabitable. Humanity was forced to create cities high above the ground to avoid being poisoned and governed by an organization that quickly went oppressive and started subjugating any and all opposition. The heads of said organization are an [[AxCrazy insane]] psychopath bent on plunging the world into chaos, a MadScientist only interested in creating the perfect being, and [[spoiler: a god of death]]. The only ones willing to oppose said organization are TheProtagonist, [[BestServedCold who has his own personal issues to sort out,]] and doesn't really give a damn about the world at large though he is at least growing out of it, a second organization with its own dirty laundry, and a small number of vigilantes.
