Ambridge Mansion is a point-and-click indie horror game series. You are a clairvoyant named Silas Roderick, and you are trapped in a mansion infested with shadow-like monsters and must solve puzzles to figure out a way to escape. Each game takes place over the course of a day, and every day that you are there, the monsters will get continually worse. If you make a bad decision, like by walking into a room without a light, the monsters will get you. There is no apparent escape from the mansion and the outside is just filled with pure blackness.

Straight example.

* AlwaysNight: Subverted. You are in a haunted mansion in its own alternate world. Everywhere outside of the house is blackness, giving the appearance that it is always night, although there is no real day or night there.

There are two games, taking place on the first day and the second day that you are in the mansion. There were going to be seven games total, but the creator seems to have abandoned the project.

The games can be found on Newgrounds. The Day One is [[http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/260163 here]] and Day Two is [[http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/346576 here]].

----
!!This video game contains examples of:

*AllJustADream: The nightmare at the beginning of the game. Unfortunately, actually being stuck in the mansion itself is very real.
*AlwaysNight: Because you're in an alternate dimension where there is nothing but blackness outside of the mansion.
*ApocalypticLog: You can read journal entries from people who were trapped in the mansion before you. They have gone insane and claim to be haunted by the shadows in their writings.
*BadDreams: The NightmareSequence at the beginning.
*CreepyDoll: The doll room.
*DarkerAndEdgier: The second game compared to the first one.
*DarkIsEvil: The monsters are shadow-like and hate light.
*DarknessEqualsDeath: If you go into a room without a light, you will be attacked. Even [[spoiler:looking out the upstairs window for too long will get you killed by a shadow with giant cat eyes]].
*DerangedAnimation: The graphics seem MS Paint-esque, which may even make the game extra creepy for some.
*EldritchAbomination: The shadows are this.
*EvilIsVisceral: In your nightmares, at least.
*HauntedHouse: And how!
*HauntedTechnology: [[In the second game, looking at the TV will get you killed. In the first game, there is a puzzle that you have to solve inside of it.]]
*HellIsThatNoise: You can hear monsters growling, the wind howling, scratching, and stuff like that all throughout the game.
*InescapableHorror: It might be this. Since only two games were made instead of seven, we'll never know.
*LivingShadow: The creatures in the mansion are this.
*MindScrew
*NeverSleepAgain: Averted. Silas feels comfortable sleeping in one particular safe room, which is lit by blue candles that keep the monsters away.
*NightmareFuel: An in-universe example, since Silas has horrible nightmares about the shadow demons.
*NightmareSequence: At the beginning of the games, you play through Silas' nightmares. You wander around a creepy monster-infested house until you die in your dream, and then start the real game.
*NothingIsScarier: Outside of the house, nothing can be seen except for pure blackness. The mansion seems to be trapped in a world of its own.
*RavensAndCrows: There's a crow that lives in the library. In your nightmares, [[spoiler:it becomes a huge monster]].
*ShoutOut: The game's theme sounds exactly like "Don't Cry Jennifer," the chase theme from the Clocktower.
*TaxidermyTerror: In your nightmare you see [[spoiler:what seems to be the skin of a shadow monster stuck on the ceiling and dripping blood]].
*TheNightThatNeverEnds: Or at least, you're trapped in an alternate dimension where there the only thing besides the mansion is infinite blackness.
*ThroughTheEyesOfMadness: The journal entries from previous victims who have lost their minds in the mansion count as this.
*ViolenceDiscretionShot: Whenever you die, we don't get to see what happened to Silas, we only hear his scream and get a game over screen.
