Thomas Castle is a long-time troper and longer-time writer. He grew up watching and loving horror movies and being wrapped up in his own little world, which eventually developed into a love of [[{{WorldBuilding}} worldbuilding]]. After [[{{AttentionDeficitCreatorDisorder}} a number]] of [[{{OldShame}} failed projects]] and [[{{StillbornSerial}} false starts]], he finally stumbled onto a hit with [[http://sorrowsofblackwood.tumblr.com/ ''Sorrows Of Blackwood'']], a [[{{SeriesFranchise}} franchise of serials]] set in and around [[{{TheLostWoods}} the forests]] of [[{{Arcadia}} Inglenook Valley]]. Each series in the franchise is an ensemble character drama that spans the genre spectrum from [[{{GothicHorror}} gothic horror]] to [[{{UrbanFantasy}} urban fantasy]] to [[{{FairyTale}} modern fairy tale]], all of which build up [[{{TheVerse}} one large and interconnected universe]].

Each series is based on a different group of characters and their lives and adventures in their own part of Inglenook, building one large and interconnected universe that takes inspiration from the vast continuity of traditional comic books. In addition to its comic book inspirations, Sorrows Of Blackwood is also influenced by the format of television shows. To that end, each series in the franchise is grouped into seasons of 10 stories each, which will usually be between 3 to 5 chapters long.
