Each page should have only one quote, which should be illustrative, poetic, and short.

It should be from a good source. Good sources, in descending order:
# Shakespeare or the Bible
# Other pillars of Western Canon (Milton, Dante, Homer, etc.)
# Giants of pop culture (Harry Potter, Star Wars, The Beatles, etc.)
# Famous people well-known for saying wise things (Churchill, Einstein, Lincoln, etc.)
# Newer entrants to Western Canon (Orson Welles, Oscar Wilde, Arthur Miller, etc.)
# Lesser, but still near-universally recognizable, works from pop culture (Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones, Quentin Tarantino, etc.)
# Cult classics (Rocky Horror Picture Show, Firefly, Buffy, etc.)
# Famous people not really known for saying wise things (Steve Jobs, Queen Victoria, Orville Wright, etc.)
# Classics of niche media (i.e. anime, video games, comic books, and tabletop games)
# Internet culture

A less illustrative quote should not be used just because it's from a good source, but one should endeavor to remember that not everyone has read one's favorite anime or is familiar with all the latest memes.

Obviously, that's just my opinion, but I figure it's a pretty okay opinion.

I've launched a few pages, but my real specialty is WikiMagic, like fixing page quotes and abuses of the word "[[SubvertedTrope subverted]]".
