History Tropers / Khrysophylax

There isn't very much to be said about me; like most people here I have a considerably wide variety of interests ranging from semi-niche Japanese mecha anime to popular western video games. Thus far I'm still a relative newcomer to TVTropes, doing far more reading than active participation these days (<__<) but I did help to create the [[FanFic/SilverResistance the Silver Resistance trope page]] originally, being quite a large fan of the fanfiction. (Yes, this is a shameless plug for [=ScytheRider's=] fanfiction. Please do feel free to follow it.)

I'm also a fairly large fan of Universal Century Gundam in general and especially the newest OVA in the series, Unicorn. I simply cannot say enough good things about it, so if you're fellow UC fan... well, it's likely you'll have already seen it and thus know exactly what I'm talking about. ;)

* ''SonicTheHedgehog'' was the first video game this troper had ever played. ''[=~Sonic 3 & Knuckles~=]'' was both the high water mark of the series and my uncontested favorite.

Since I don't have much else to do with this space, I'll just assemble a (very highly incomplete) list of some of the fandoms I am following and/or an active participant in.

* ''AnotherCenturysEpisode'': Currently, A.C.E. 3 is my favorite mecha game of all time. ([[MoreDakkaFull Armor Nu Gundam HWS, yes!]])

Much like the dragon for which he is obliquely named, Khrysophylax personifies the vices of sloth and indolence; he is, in a word, a procrastinator, which is why it has taken him this long to set up an account on TV Tropes despite having lurked here for several years. However, he has taken to this new task with considerable zeal, having already begun to compile vast lists of candidates for new entries on trope pages.

Although often praised for his talent with wordcraft in his youth, it was unfortunately allowed to wither over the years. Khrysophylax suffers from a chronic lack of impetus in his personal projects when not motivated by concrete deadlines in the real world. Unfortunately, he has discovered that he works best under pressure and the writing of fanfiction simply does not quite compare to the rush of adrenaline and white-knuckle terror of knowing that he has a term paper on Abnormal Psychology due within two days.

Khrysophylax considers himself to be first and foremost a fan of [[MobileSuitGundam Universal Century Gundam]] and giant mecha anime in general, though this is by no means a completely monopolizing obsession. He has also written, yet never completed, a number of FanFics and crossovers set within this continuity over the past two years, and numerous short stories for [[{{Warhammer40000}} Warhammer 40,000]] before that.

You may address him as Khrys, if you wish, although do not presume that this is in any way related to his real name (it is not).

An accurate tally of every single property he currently enjoys or has enjoyed would be, of course, impossible, and it would almost be an easier undertaking to list those properties which he does ''not'' like than those he does. Having said all that, however, a preliminary summation of his favorite properties is not only feasible but (vaguely) entertaining:

* ''GundamUnicorn'': Oh so very much. In fact, it would probably be accurate to say he bought a Blu-Ray player specifically for this.

* ''BattlestarGalactica'': Though with the caveat that he [[DisContinuity pretends seasons three and four never existed]].

* ''LawAndOrder'': It is very much a guilty pleasure, and he will refuse to admit it in public.

* ''{{Alien}}'': There are those who might argue that allowing Khrysophylax's ten-year-old self to watch this movie was, perhaps, not the best of ideas. These people are sadly mistaken.
* ''{{Terminator}}'': This and the sequel are some of his favorites, and he identifies with the machine antagonists/protagonists.

* ''{{Downfall}}'': He finds this both an interesting (if deeply unsettling) glimpse into the frightening psychology of Hitler and his flunkies in their final days, and (as above) a source for innumerable Internet parodies.
* ''{{Ghostbusters}}'': How can anyone not enjoy this? It and its sequel are the quintessential comedy of the 1980s.
* ''NightOfTheLivingDead'': Both the original and the remake are, in his opinion, the quintessential zombie horror movies.

* ''StarWars RogueSquadron'': And the sequel (he has not played the threequel).
* ''{{Pokemon}}''. Since the release of ''Yellow'', and he's of the opinion that the series hit a high note with ''Platinum'' and ''HeartGold / SoulSilver''. The dragon defies you to guess his favorite Pokémon, mortal!

* TroperTales/AttentionDeficitCreatorDisorder: Alas, played painfully straight. He has begun and abandoned enough fanfics to fill a small library...
