1. TransformersEnergon: Translation was... horrible, the character arcs went nowhere, half the stuff didn't make sense, characters were killed with no rhyme or reason, and the animation got really wonky.

This is the most lurid perverse imagery I've ever seen in a transformers brand (and believe me, Transformers isn't known for it's fanservice, which is one of the many reasons I like it). That said, the story is actually pretty good, with the merging of Man and machine with some very bad humans (LoveToHate kind, not TheScrappy kind), and pretty sad moments. But, you would have to get past the shock images, and I still can't.

1. G1 Cartoon, season 1 the puns are bad, the animation is stiff, but the nostalgia value is through the roof, and it is really neat to see cars jets and other vehicles turn into robots.
2. G1 cartoon Season 2: better, more characters, more plotlines, the animation and camp are still there, but it is still good...ish
3. Movie: my favorite transformers film, honestly, I think the first half holds up better, with the old characters killing eachother in a war, still the animation is excellent, the voice acting is great, and the story, while flawed, is still ok. The New characters have been firmly established over the years, so I like them.
4. G1 cartoon season 3: Notable shift in setting, from earth to space, plenty of opportunities to visit other planets for new adventures, unfortunately, the sheer amount of animation errors got even bigger here.
