* FriendshipOnTheSet: The cast of the show has notoriously gotten along very well, to the point of "[=TWDFamily=]" becoming a popular hashtag for cast pictures. Newcomers have reported being instantly made to feel welcome by the long time cast members and many of the cast have been spotted hanging around offset and even after the ending of the show.

* IKnewIt:
** Some fans suspected that Carol’s short hair was not out of a desire to keep walkers from grabbing her hair, but rather her abusive husband Ed. It’s confirmed in Season 9 that this was the case, as Carol becomes comfortable enough in her healthy marriage to Ezekiel to let it grow to its natural length.
** A lot of fans (especially those of the comics) knew from the get-go that [[spoiler:the Anderson family would get wiped out, and that Carl would lose his eye]] in "No Way Out" from the commercials and the episode's title.
** Many fans had this reaction to [[spoiler:Abraham]] being selected as Negan's Lucille victim in the Season 7 premiere, given that the character had received [[ADeathInTheLimelight a lot of recent focus]] after spending quite some time OutOfFocus. [[spoiler:What the majority did ''not'' expect was Glenn, who was the one killed in the comics, also getting offed just minutes later as punishment for Daryl attacking Negan, believing that his controversial NearDeathExperience the previous season assured his safety.]]
** In "Swear" it is revealed that the Saviors massacred every male in the Oceanside community over the age of 10 for trying to rebel. Given [[BigBad Negan's]] philosophy that people must be kept around as a resource rather than slaughtered all at once it seemed oddly out of character for the Savior leader to have killed so many people at once without a good reason. Midway through Season 8, [[TheDragon Simon]] reveals himself to be considerably more AxCrazy than previously thought, and a strong advocate for the complete extermination of all of Hilltop's residents, in addition to [[spoiler:killing all but one of the Scavengers.]] Naturally, [[spoiler:not very many were surprised to learn that Simon was the one responsible for the Oceanside massacre.]]
** Fans were slowly able to piece together that [[spoiler:Carol released Negan to assassinate Alpha]] in Season 10, confirmed by “Walk With Us”.
** It was pretty much a given that [[spoiler:Rick and Michonne]] would make a cameo in the series finale to set up their forthcoming spin-off.

** Creator/CassadyMcClincy (Lydia) and Cameron Roberts (Tyler Davis) have been dating since 2021.

** Two of Creator/ChristianSerratos' well-known roles prior to [[ActionGirl Rosita]] are an AlphaBitch-turned-LovableAlphaBitch (''Series/NedsDeclassifiedSchoolSurvivalGuide'') and a CoolLoser (''Literature/TheTwilightSaga'').

* AcclaimedFlop: Downplayed in Season 9. While the show is still the top-rated program of Sunday nights, and critical reception is dramatically better than the past few seasons, ratings are still ''far'' below the lofty standards set by the show's heyday. AMC has contended that part of this is due to the changing landscape for media consumption, as fans are now relying more heavily on AMC’s streaming service as well as simply waiting to watch recordings of the show after the premiere. By Season 11, AMC would outright encourage fans to tune into AMC+ to watch new episodes a week early, ratings evidently no longer being a concern.

* FoilerFootage: For the Season 7 premiere, news reports written before and after filming claimed that a variety of alternate scenarios for Negan's intended victim were filmed (up to and including ''every'' member of the main cast in the clearing), in an attempt to throw off spoiler hounds stalking the set for leaks. One of these, which showed Maggie being hit in the head with Lucille and defiantly ''spitting'' on Negan before he beats her to death, was "leaked" in the days leading up to the premiere to throw off fans. In the final cut of the episode, [[spoiler:Abraham and Glenn die at the hands of Negan and Lucille]]. Ultimately [[spoiler:this trope ended up being{{Averted}}, because in fact all the "fake footage" was actually used in the episode, forming an ImagineSpot where Rick pictured everyone in the clearing dying one by one.]]
* FunnyCharacterBoringActor: Inverted. In stark contrast to the serious and tense characters they play, the cast are very lively and are known for their pranks on set.

** Surprisingly, and happily, averted with Teo Rapp-Olsson, who has stated that though he expected hate from fans due to playing a massive HateSink, his interaction with fans has been positive and they have thanked him for playing a HateSink so well.

** Despite being very different in tone, the fact that they're both about the ZombieApocalypse makes this inevitable with ''Series/ZNation''. In terms of sheer popularity ''Walking Dead'' is the clear winner, but ''Z Nation'' did have a good five-season run and has been getting a push from Netflix in the form of a prequel series titled ''Series/BlackSummer''. Furthermore, ''Z Nation'' has less than one-third the budget per episode, and was made for a much less prestigious network. Only time will tell how this eventually plays out.

* CowboyBebopAtHisComputer: IGN’s [[https://www.ign.com/articles/the-walking-dead-season-11-premiere-review-negan-maggie-commonwealth review]] of the Season 11 premiere erroneously listed Princess’s actress as “Juanita Sanchez”, ignorant of the fact that is Princess’s actual name and that the character is played by Creator/PaolaLazaro.

* AuthorsSavingThrow: As the final season premiered, fans grew wary of AMC+ releasing new episodes a week early, and worried that the GrandFinale would also be released a week early as with what happened with ''World Beyond''. Not only would this result in spoilers being rampant across the internet for a week for those who didn’t pay for the streaming service (effectively holding them hostage for not paying extra), but it would rob the fandom of experiencing the final episode together. After over a year of fans voicing their concerns (and showrunners Scott Gimple and Angela Kang agreeing with the fan sentiments), at NYCC 2022, AMC finally confirmed that the GrandFinale would not release a week early on AMC+, and would instead be released simultaneously with the episode’s broadcast.

** Two of Creator/ChristianSerratos' well-known roles prior to [[ActionGirl Rosita]] are an AlphaBitch-turned-LovableAlphaBitch (''Series/NedsDeclassifiedSchoolSurvivalGuide'') and a CoolLoser (''Literature/{{Twilight}}'').
