You make it sound like Warner edited the episodes themselves.

* MissingEpisode: As of 2019, Warner apparently still can't release "Wednesday is Missing" (the one where Scooby meets the Addams Family) on DVD. It is expected this was a hold up between either the John Astin or Carolyn Jones estate. Given WB cleared WesternAnimation/TheAddamsFamily1973 which would have included clearances on the characters, Coogan and Cassidy. The 90s series is only held back by music clearances. Character rights still holding up from the original 90s contract.

* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: In 2005, Warner attempted to release a DVD set with the full series, but was refused the rights to several of the celebrities and characters that were guest stars, including Series/TheAddamsFamily, WesternAnimation/JosieAndThePussycats, [[Music/TheMonkees Davy Jones]], Music/{{Sonny| Bono}} and Music/{{Cher}}, and WesternAnimation/{{Jeannie}}. A "Best Of" DVD was released with 15 episodes containing the guest stars for whom Warner had been granted the rights. The opening titles of the DVD of this release were also edited to remove all the guest stars. Later developments that WB can release other shows containing those characters has raised questions of exactly how many of the nine others are holding up the release. And even back then, the first release has a "1" on it which, back then, barring one outlier, meant they at least planned to put out a "2". This also affected streaming and downloading, but did not affect broadcast, and all 24 episodes were in regular rotation on Cartoon Network and Boomerang in the 1990s/2000s, and still today whenever the show airs. In 2019 (the year of [[MilestoneCelebration the Scooby-Doo franchise's 50th anniversary]]), Warner [[https://www.animationmagazine.net/home-entertainment/new-scooby-doo-movies-come-home-in-almost-complete-lost-episode-sets/ announced]] that eight of the nine "Lost Episodes" would finally come to DVD, both by themselves, and in an "(Almost) Complete" DVD and Blu-ray with the installments cleared in 2005.

* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: Likely applies to this more than any of the other ''Scooby-Doo'' shows. While modern-day kids will almost certainly know who Batman and Robin, Series/TheAddamsFamily, and WesternAnimation/TheHarlemGlobetrotters are, and probably even Film/TheThreeStooges and Creator/LaurelAndHardy, most of the other celebrities and characters will likely just leave them scratching their head as to exactly who they're supposed to be. Similarly, those fans unaware that [[Series/IDreamOfJeannie Jeannie]] had [[WesternAnimation/{{Jeannie}} her own animated spin-off]] will definitely be wondering why she's hanging out with two teenage boys and a bumbling fellow genie instead of Major Nelson and Major Healey.
