* NonSingingVoice: In the English dub, they kept Creator/Yukana's singing for Tear when she uses Yulia's Hymns. Considering it's some weird Do-Re-Mi ConLang, it's not especially noticable.

Added DiffLines:

** Speaking of the restored content, the party was all originally going to have second level Mystic Artes, but only Luke, Jade, and Tear were able to get theres finished in time for the release of the game. Guy, Natalia, and Anise had voice lines and attack information present in game, but not in a completed fashion. This lead to the localization team finishing them for the western release.

* BadExportForYou: Although the English-language version generally has what is considered a superb dub, the skits weren't recorded in English. New Mystic Artes and costumes were added to the game, but most people agree those didn't compensate (in part because the dub was already great and the skits would have provided Lowenthal, Bosch and Thornton in particular some of the game's best material to work with). This wasn't corrected in the 3DS port, to boot.

** While the dub is good on its own, a comparison with the Japanese original reveals that certain subtleties are missing in regards to the emotional acting. This results in minor LostInTranslation moments, like Jade not actually sounding angry in Deo Pass when he's pointed out to sound so (making that bit of dialogue come off as awkward and strange) or Ion sounding angry when when in the original he sounds confused .

** Even worse was the European version of the 3DS port. The localization was non-existent to the point that even the freaking back cover was in English in all countries. Most of the manual wasn't translated to other languages either, only the instructions to boot the game. And as the icing on the cake, the distribution was severely limited. Yeah, Namco. That's how you make a series popular in the European market...
* FanNickname - FanNickname: Luke's FanNickname is Ambassador Asshat, for when he cranks up his Jerkass nature UpToEleven as an ambassador to Akzeriuth. That's what happens when you give a spoiled rich kid authority and tell him that his freedom and the opportunity to work alongside his beloved father figure ride entirely on him doing an impressive job.

* MarthDebutedInSmashBros: Nanaly from TalesOfDestinyII first appeared as a Cameo fight to the west in this game. Likewise, Reala and Harold from TalesOfDestinyII also first appeared in this game in the form of references in Tokunaga accessories.
* NoExportForYou: Live in Europe? Get a region 1 PS2 or learn Japanese and import a Japanese copy, it's the only way you'll ever see this game. Also what (quite reasonably given the series's past) fans expect from the 3DS port.
** Subverted. The 3DS port was released in Europe, even before than in America. If you're in Europe and still want to play it on the PS2, you still have to import, though.

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Apparently some stuff was discovered that suggests more stuff was DummiedOut. While quite a bit of it was restored for the North American localization (And the 3DS remake), among the things found were not only un-used Hi-Ougi cut-ins (Even for the cameo teams; a bug could have Rid show a cut-in for Burning Phoenix suggesting this was even programmed in) but also Van to be playable at one point.
** X-Buster was apparently intended to be Dist's Hi-ougi/Mystic Arte.
*** Anise has an Arte called X-Buster (from the Artificial Life Form accessory). Dist's Mystic Arte was supposed to be called D-Buster.
** There are quite a few unused battle lines (all of them dubbed in the english release) that are probably unused Artes, such as:
*** Anise's Valkyrie Saber, Dragon Rampage and Fang Shot.
*** Asch's Falling Dragon, Ravaging Hell and Binding Doom.
*** Natalia's Imperial Raid.
*** Van's Majestic Apocalypse.
