** Also It was also mandated by ThePowersThatBe were that the story involve both time travel and a showdown with the Borg.Borg -- though in this case the writers admitted they would probably have gone down that road anyway, given how important the Borg had become to the show's story arc by this point, and how they felt certain plot issues could only be properly addressed via time travel.

They speak about their adventures and, thereafter keeping the discussion between herself and Chakotay, Admiral Janeway is pleased he has found romance with Seven of Nine. Chakotay is at first surprised to discover the admiral is aware of the relationship. He is reticent to discuss it in the company of his captain but eventually admits to the admiral, privately, that his relationship with Seven is going "great."

** An ending whereby ''Voyager'' would be locked into a time loop and forced to repeat its journey across the galaxy for all eternity was apparently considered at one point, and even widely reported on the internet in early 2001 as being how the series would end, but the idea was squashed early on by UPN, who were opposed to the series having a DownerEnding of any sort.

** When the producers eventually settled on the storyline they went with, there was still some debate as to whether to have ''Voyager'' actually get back to Earth during the finale, or have an AndTheAdventureContinues ending by using the time travel elements to confirm that ''Voyager'' would make it home someday, but it would be many years after the series ended. They ultimately decided that the fans wouldn't be satisfied with the latter ending, and then it got rendered moot when Paramount applied an ExecutiveVeto to any thoughts of ''Voyager'' not returning to Earth in the finale.
