** Shaggy initially got a fashion update like the other characters, with his t-shirt becoming red and gaining sneakers (which would have looked identical to his appearances from ''WesternAnimation/The13GhostsOfScoobyDoo'' and the 3 Scooby and Scrappy 80's trilogy films). But they changed their minds, feeling his classic look was more timeless than Fred and Daphne's obvious 60s influences. This look would get repurposed for Cyber Shaggy come ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooAndTheCyberChase''.

* TheOriginalDarrin: After being voiced by Carl Steven in ''WesternAnimation/APupNamedScoobyDoo'', Creator/FrankWelker returned to voicing Fred for this film, and continues to do so to this day, with the exceptions of ''WesternAnimation/{{Scoob}}'' and ''WesternAnimation/{{Velma}}''.

** Creator/TaraStrong says that she and the other voice actors were originally going to speak in Cajun accents. She herself says she found the accent very difficult and Creator/JimCummings, who learned it around the time of his residency in Louisiana, said they didn't sound authentic, so they just went with typical Louisiana accents.

** Creator/MarkHamill not only voices Snakebite Scruggs, but also Shaggy and Scooby's airport supervisor.
** Creator/JimCummings voices Jacques as well as Morgan Moonscar, Confederate general Jackson Pettigrew, and a plantation worker.
** Creator/FrankWelker not only voices Fred but also Simone's cats, Snakebite's pet pig Mojo, and multiple zombies.

** In the Latin American Spanish dub, Scooby-Doo, Mr. Beeman, and Jacques are all voiced by Francisco Colmenero; and Creator/RicardoTejedo voices Fred Jones and Snakebite Scruggs.

* RecycledScript: The concept was originally a unfinished ''WesternAnimation/SwatKats'' episode, "The Curse of Kataluna" (which would've involved a {{Succubus}}). Suddenly, the DarkerAndEdgier tone (and all the cat-related motifs) makes a lot more sense. (Parts of it were also recycled by the writer, Glenn Leopold, for the season two episode "Eclipse" for ''WesternAnimation/JonnyQuestTheRealAdventures''.)

* WagTheDirector: Creator/CaseyKasem was going to reprise his role as Shaggy, but he'd recently gone vegan and demanded the character do the same. He was turned down and recast with Creator/BillyWest, because a) they felt it would be too radical a character change for Shaggy and b) some of the animation had already been started, featuring Shaggy eating crawfish and other non-vegan food. Casey was offered another chance at the end of production, when Billy West had already recorded all his dialogue, but he refused.

* AllStarCast: At least in voice acting circles. The cast features voice acting luminaries Frank Welker, BJ Ward, Mary Kay Bergman, Billy West, Tara Strong, Jim Cummings, Adrienne Barbeau, Cam Clarke and Mark Hamill. Joe Ranft and Michael Bell even perform small uncredited roles.

* UnintentionalPeriodPiece: Shaggy and Scooby would ''not'' have gotten away with their airport antics (especially Scooby constantly sniffing and barking at people's baggage) in a post-9/11 world. The camera is also very late 90s, and the gang losing their footage to quicksand means that they have nothing to show on Daphne's show; these days, everything would be digital and backed up on computers and hard drives easily after each filming day as opposed to having to get the tapes processed back then. Also, [[spoiler:Simone and Lena's scheme to trap people on the island]] would be harder to pull off when most people would have mobile phones these days and could call for help.

* CelebrityVoiceActor: Creator/AdrienneBarbeau provides the voice of Simone, continuing an active career in voice acting that launched six years earlier with ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries''.
