* McLeaned: Valerie Vernon was diagnosed with leukemia during filming, Kendrix was killed off by sacrificing herself to save Cassie. Thankfully, her leukemia was cured in time for her revival in the final episode.

* PropRecycling: The military armor was courtesy of ''Franchise/StarshipTroopers''. Also, the Magna Morpher was from ''[[Series/GoseiSentaiDairanger Dairanger]]'', unused in ''Series/MightyMorphinPowerRangers'' since they were still sticking with a lot of ''[[Series/KyoryuSentaiZyuranger Zyuranger]]'' stuff.

** It's also worth noting that this series also recycles several monster costumes from previous ''Power Rangers'' series (some unused) as well as some from its sister series, ''Big Bad Series/{{Beetleborgs}}''.
*** Furio, the villain responsible for petrifying all of Mirinoi in the season premiere, was the monster form of Dr. Hinelar, the main villain of ''Series/DenjiSentaiMegaranger''. That's largely the reason Furio isn't around too long, he wasn't in ''Gingaman''. (He replaced Sambash, the first of the ''Gingaman'' villains to go, apparently because the costume was unavailable; Sambash's costume was instead used as the much different character Villamax.)

* ScrewedByTheNetwork: This season had the highest ratings for any ''Franchise/PowerRangers'' opening, yet ''Franchise/{{Digimon}}'' was being [[AdoredByTheNetwork more heavily promoted]], thus ratings fell.
** The cast was also promised a reunion movie. They never got it. And in the team-up with ''[[Series/PowerRangersLightspeedRescue Lightspeed Rescue]]'', most of the plot centers around a little girl than the actual Rangers. Also, Trakeena's actress, Amy Miller, got screwed out of her paycheck, which led to her and Danny Slavin storming off the set in protest.

* FanNickname: The Ranger suits for this season (and thus, extended to Gingaman as well) has been nicknamed "The [[ComicStrip/{{Peanuts}} Charlie Brown]] Costumes" because of the signature squiggly, pointed black line across the torso and around the cuffs of the boots and gloves.

** Then, the series was pulled before the finale aired, later put out as a 'special presentation' with little promotion.

** Combination of this and WhatCouldHaveBeen: Rumor has it that in the plans derailed by Valerie Vernon's leukemia diagnosis, the Dairanger uniforms would have been utilized in some fashion, presumably in a way that connected to the Galactabeasts, given the shared color scheme.

** From ''Power Rangers in Space'': Creator/MelodyPerkins returned to play Karone, Creator/WendeeLee returned to voice Alpha 6 and Jack Banning returned to play Professor Phenomenus.

* RealLifeWritesThePlot: The reason Trakeena’s armored form disappeared after its first appearance was because Amy Miller found it uncomfortable to wear and difficult to move in.

** Per a pre-series bible, Mirinoi was supposed to be inside the Lost Galaxy (and shots of Mirinoi in "Quasar Quest" supported this original plan), and there were conceptual plans to bring the Phantom Ranger back again as a full-time sixth ranger.
** There was supposed to be a set of Ancient Rangers who would have played a part in the series. Interestingly, they would have donned the costumes from ''Series/GoseiSentaiDairanger''. However, Valerie Vernon's leukemia diagnosis caused it to be scrapped. The only thing that's left from these plans is the Magna Defender's morpher, which was the one used in ''Dairanger'' (his Sentai counterpart transformed using his sword).

The behind-the-scenes troubles that went on while filming the ''Lost Galaxy''/''Lightspeed Rescue'' team-up the following season only further soured his feelings towards his experiences (basically, the producers tried to screw over Trakeena's actress Amy Miller out of her paycheck and Slavin literally walked off the set alongside Miller in protest of this, forcing the producers to have to hire a body double for the remainder of his scenes and do their best to avoid showing his face during the episode). It practically took a miracle (and the producers calling in personal favors) to get him to appear in "Forever Red", and he repeatedly turned down numerous invitations to appear at [[FanConvention Power Morphicon]]. However, as of 2014, he's begun to soften up somewhat, as he's made appearances at conventions and also accepted [[http://www.rangercrew.com/forum/showthread.php?26517-Power-Rangers-Super-Megaforce-Pre-Discussion&p=1098532#post1098532 a cameo invitation]] for ''Megaforce''.

It turned out as essentially a FillerArc, likely incorporating as much Sentai footage as possible in order to save money for the finale (the show was likely bleeding money - even the cancellation of fellow Saban series ''Series/TheMysticKnightsOfTirNaNog'', which had their budget funneled over here, didn't help).

* WordOfStPaul: In a panel at Power Morphicon 2014, Danny Slavin revealed that he thought that Leo and Kendrix could have ended up together as a couple and he personally preferred this pairing out of the three Leo was {{Ship Tease}}d with (the other two being with Maya and Karone). Interestingly enough, and as stated elsewhere, the writers ''were'' planning on making Leo and Kendrix an OfficialCouple, and in the story, they made several hints to try and establish it, but Valerie Vernon had to take a break filming because of her leukemia treatments.

Teruaki Ogawa who played Sasuke/[=NinjaRed=] in ''Series/NinjaSentaiKakuranger'' and Hyuuga/Black Knight in ''Series/SeijuuSentaiGingaman'', is the voice of Leo; Kazuki Maehara, Ryouma/[=GingaRed=]'s actor in ''Gingaman'', voices Kai; Creator/HiroshiTsuchida, Saizo/[=NinjaBlue=]'s actor in ''Kakuranger'', provides the voice for Mike/Magna Defender; and Eri Tanaka, who portrayed Chisato Jogasaki/[=MegaYellow=] in ''Series/DenjiSentaiMegaranger'', voices Maya (interestingly enough, both Chisato and Maya are Yellow Rangers).
