** The mysterious masked man really was [[spoiler:Tim]], as several fans realized when they noticed [[spoiler:Tim wearing the same jacket in Entry #20 as the masked man was wearing in Entries #18 and 19]]. His identity isn't actually revealed until [[spoiler:his unmasking at the hands of Alex and Jay in Entry #35]].
** Jay tweeted on the 9th of July: '(Totheark's) videos are so inconsistent. It's like they're being made by different people. No way I can prove that, though.' Despite explicitly stating he can't prove it, some fans began preemptively fist-pumping.
** Entry #45 [[spoiler:confirms the existence of at least two masked entities]].
** After Entries #60 and 61, it was widely speculated that [[spoiler:Tim used to be a patient at the burned down mental hospital while it was functional and that he was stalked by the Operator as a child]]. This is confirmed in Entry #66.
** When the tweet announcing the upload of Entry #72 came out, fans speculated that it was sent by Tim on behalf of Jay due to uncharacteristic grammar errors. About a month later, Tim sent out a tweet confirming that yes, he's the one behind the official Twitter for now.

During Season 3, however, the creators toyed with the idea of making him Jay's Operator-induced alter-ego (like Masky and Hoody were for [[spoiler: Tim and Brian]]), and having Jay himself discover this through found footage. The idea was scrapped, though the creators suggested that he could still be lurking somewhere. This was paid off when he later appeared in the ''Marble Hornets'' [[ComicBook/MarbleHornets comics]], where he's revealed to be [[spoiler: an [[HumanoidAbomination entity]] former out of the fused souls of the Operator's past victims (including Jay, Brian, Alex, and White Shirt Guy) -- with Jay's body.]]

** The skull-faced Masked figure who appeared briefly in Entry #26 was originally just added in as a result of RuleOfCool. However, during season 3, the creators toyed with the idea of him being Jay's Masky-esque, Operator-induced alter-ego, like Masky and Hoody were for [[spoiler: Tim and Brian]], and Jay himself would discover this through found footage. * FanNickname: The Fanbase is fond of giving affectionate nicknames to characters. Slendy for the Operator, Masky for [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin the masked man]], Hoody for the man with the hood and the black ski mask, Skully for the figure with the skull mask in Entry #26 and so on. The man who [[spoiler: Alex kills]] in Entry #49 is known as "Beardy" or "Bruce" depending on who you ask.

** Tothe<location> has become something of a memetic phrase. It began when some commentators started referring to Masky as "Tothearby's", due to his actor gaining some weight between the seasons. This meme was reinforced [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaN0z2ZuP_s in this video]] when Joseph(Alex)'s dog talks about going [[PunctuatedForEmphasis To. The. Park]].
** The three creators themselves have collectively been given various nicknames throughout the fandom, some of the most frequent of which are Trosephim and the Bro Trinity.

* OldShame: Joseph [=DeLage=] feels this way about Season 2, stating that, while it has its good parts, it mostly consists of {{Padding}} due to the creators' relative inexperience with long-form storytelling.

** On his own tenth anniversary stream, [[spoiler: Joseph confirmed that he played the Operator at least once, with his[[TheBlank facelessness]] being a result of covering the performer's face with multiple layers of pantyhose. The Operator's arms were separate pieces from the rest of the costume, and his unnatural height came from duct-taping "at least five" flip-flops together to serve as rudimentary platform shoes in the early iterations of the costume. A video from Troy, Tim, and Joseph taken after the series' conclusion indicates that they upgraded to stilts at some point.]]

** Entry #26 was initially going to be the last video, ending with Jay quitting the investigation once and for all. Due to the amount of fan demand for more content, however, they continued for 2 more seasons.
