WhatCouldHaveBeen: Several characters were meant to play a bigger role in the story or the sidequests.
** Marina was supposed to play a more prominent role in the story as a recurring antagonist of the Mnemosyne Company, showing up during some of the main storyline and certain character recruitments. For instance she was originally supposed to be the culprit who kidnapped Channing's father in the Tierkreis quest, and she was supposed to be the reason Nalhir came out of hiding. Both these scenarios were scrapped.
** Bahrmuel was going to be the one to get Channing and company away from Lunarosse after they're branded traitors, and revealed to be a key member in the Mnemosyne Company. This was hinted at heavily during the cutscene between himself, Abel, and Marina, as he didn't seemed too worried about them escaping. He was supposed to have joined relatively early on, at least some time after Icas was recruited, and to have more missions to give to Channing after his recruitment. He was also meant to be a playable character, being another person to use a gun and possibly be one of the - if not the - most powerful person in the game.
