Names The Same is no longer a trope

* NamesTheSame: Ryū is unrelated to the Hoshikawa siblings from ''Series/ChikyuuSentaiFiveman''. Another guy named Ryū (Tendō) was also the leader in ''Series/ChoujinSentaiJetman''.
** Also applies to Yōsuke, with only a very subtle difference in surnames between himself and Hurricane Red from ''Series/NinpuuSentaiHurricaneger'' (Dyna Blue = Yōsuke Shima; Hurricane Red = Yōsuke Sh'''''īn'''''a).

* BTeamSequel: This was the first ''Franchise/SuperSentai'' series not to feature Chumei Watanabe's music. Instead, the series was composed by Kensuke Kyo.

** An unknown production photo of Megumi Oogawa (Goggle Pink) in Chimera's outfit suggests she was originally going to be cast as the part, carrying over directly into the next show like Junichi Haruta (both Goggle Black and Dyna Black) did. Which might explain why Dyna Black was so often written to be opposing Chimera, as they would have originally been former cast mates. 2 years later however they'd pull this off in a sense with Dynaman's own heroine actress Sayoko Hagiwara being cast as Flashman's primary female villain.

* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Early production material indicates that this was supposed to have been a ''baseball-themed Sentai.'' There are still some remnants of this -- note the baseball-uniform-esque designs of the suits, the sound of the crack of a bat in the theme song, and the use of "Grand Slam" as the {{Invocation}} for the CombiningMecha.

* RecycledScript: Episode 24 has a MonsterOfTheWeek with the ability to shapeshift into any person taking on the form of one of the rangers, causing confusion among his teammates. Didn't they use that plot in Episode 45 of ''Series/DaiSentaiGoggleFive''? This is not helped by the fact that the Black Rangers in both series are played by the same guy (see Hey It's That Guy above).
