* ScrewedByTheLawyers: Has had this happen to them quite frequently due to indie developers [[CantTakeCriticism not being able to handle Jim's harsh criticism on their games]]. A frequent tactic the developers would use is issuing a copyright claim on the offending video, which has the video taken down and puts Jim's channel in bad standing. Jim would then issue a counterclaim so that the developer would have to give actual evidence in court (which Website/YouTube does not get involved with). Usually, the developers never follow through, so Jim is just inconvenienced as they wait for their video to go back online. However, Digital Homicide, an indie studio they've tussled with since 2014, actually followed up on their threats to sue Jim and did so in March 2016. While Jim was still able to produce content for their channel, the stress and frustration from the lawsuit did affect their ability to make content since now their time was divided between their work and the lawsuit that they cannot talk about publicly.

Only applies to/goes under the work the errors are about, not the work making it.

* CowboyBebopAtHisComputer:
** When talking about ''VideoGame/TomodachiLife'' they apparently said something to the effect of gay marriage being "patched out". [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1SwNYKe8tY They followed this up]] a few days later with a correction admitting they were wrong, and go onto to point out that being wrong on the internet is not a sign of weakness, but of personal growth. Being wrong means you learn from experience, and do better in the future to avoid the same mistake.
** In "Should They Have Done More with ''Dark Souls Remastered''", Jim asks if Creator/FromSoftware should have done more to improve some of the rougher aspects of ''Dark Souls'' in the ''Remastered'' edition, such as improving the [[DisappointingLastLevel Demon Ruins and Lost Izalith]]. The issue is that From didn't work on ''Remastered'', it was instead developed by QLOC, a technically-oriented studio whose work consists entirely of ports and remasters, as opposed to original game content. It's unlikely that they would have had the game design expertise to fix the problems that Jim pointed out, even if they wanted to, and doing so might have been seen as messing with another developer's work without their approval or guidance.
** In the Jimpressions video about ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosUltimate'', Jim identifies the game's developer as Creator/HalLaboratory. However, HAL hasn't worked on a ''Smash Bros'' game since ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosMelee'', all subsequent games in the series have been made by other developers, with ''Ultimate'', as well as ''Wii U and 3DS'', developed by a team at Bandai-Namco.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RuEllSE8KE In their PS5 Game Showcase]], they exclaim at the 17 minute mark that Creator/SquareEnix don't have to do much to ''VideoGame/Hitman3'' for it to be good ("be Hitman, and they've done it"). The issue here is that ''Hitman'' developer Creator/IOInteractive has had very little to do with Square Enix since 2017[[note]]Square Enix license the ''Hitman'' IP out perpetually to IO Interactive, but otherwise they are hands-free when it comes to the franchise[[/note]] as the two companies broke up due to what the latter saw to be poor sales of the game, and [=IOI=] went independent as a result of this. The news was [[https://www.destructoid.com/-update-square-enix-breaks-up-with-hitman-developer-io-interactive-435667.phtml fairly well publicized]], so this news flying under their radar is quite surprising, especially since they've made videos on Square Enix's practices before. They also note the lack of the Square Enix logo for the publisher at the start of the trailer, which ''really'' should have clued them in. Conrad Zimmerman made a similar mistake in [[https://soundcloud.com/jimquisition/podquisition-306-the-void-of-uncertainty Podquisition #306]], where he attributes Square Enix's behaviour of not having [=PSVR=] in the [=PS5=] port of the game to some confusing ExecutiveMeddling, when again, Square Enix had nothing to do with this decision.
** One of their first talking points when discussing ''VideoGame/MultiVersus'' is that the game is clearly an attempt by Creator/WarnerBros to flex the vastness and diversity of their intellectual properties. Two issues: First, the game is developed by an indie studio called Player First Games (not Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment), and it was their very first game at that. The second issue is that Player First Games ''deliberately avoided'' naming the game with anything associated with the company, because they were interested in adding non-Warner Bros. properties later.
** One of their major points in criticizing ''[=MultiVersus=]'' was that mashing ''Scooby Doo'' with ''Game of Thrones'' was completely unnatural as the two tones were too widely disparate to do anything with. However, ''Supernatural'' did a [[Recap/SupernaturalS13E16ScoobyNatural rather well received crossover episode]] with ''Scooby Doo'' years prior, covering many of the arguments raised by them like "having nothing to say". This also ignores that the ''Smash Bros.'' franchise, outside of ''64'', has always included mature game characters in its roster, and kept many of their respective personality traits; the militaristic [[VideoGame/MetalGear Solid Snake]] was added in ''Brawl'', the stripperiffic VideoGame/{{Bayonetta}} was added in ''Smash 4'', and much of the ''Fire Emblem'' cast have added and been around since ''Melee'', while ''Ultimate'' includes [[Franchise/{{Tekken}} Kazuya]] and [[VideoGame/Persona5 Joker]], meaning their entire argument has been debunked almost 20 years ago.

* AuthorsSavingThrow: The "Screw Steam" episode pissed off a lot of people, with many accusing them of shilling for the Epic Games Store (this is in spite of the fact they listed problems ''with'' the store too), which has been criticized for its lack of key features (shopping cart, achievements and more), while using what profits they've gotten from selling Unreal Game Engine licenses, as well as the success of VideoGame/{{Fortnite}} to buy up popular games like ''VideoGame/MetroExodus'' as timed exclusives, and controversies that come with that news often get Epic painted in a (justfiably) bad light. In "The Problems With The Epic Store", Jim clarified that while they like the idea of a digital distribution platform competing with Steam, something sorely needed as Creator/ValveCorporation has basically monopolised the PC Gaming market, and even believes the Epic store currently offers many studios a better deal in a number of ways (their 12/88 percentage cut for a start is one ''hell'' of an incentive for indie devs, and Jim doesn't blame indies for taking such deals when Steam is so saturated with asset flips and general competition), but Epic comes off as trying to strong-arm customers with exclusives, which Jim notes that it cannot be a viable long-term strategy, especially since [[NotHelpingYourCase it's already breeding bad blood]], and the store has nothing else going for it. Later on in "The Epic Brutality Of Unchecked Capitalism" they acknowledge their previous video supporting the Epic Store, but tears into it a bit for its numerous anti-consumer aspects, though they clarify that Epic still ''has'' to fight dirty to compete with Valve due to the landscape of "AAA capitalism" encouraging underhanded tactics in the industry, or they'll simply be ignored.

** While they've also gleefully mocked those who hated the show at first, Jim's been fairly open about seeing their first few episodes on The Escapist and all the episodes they did on Destructoid's [=YouTube=] channel as pretty crap. Jim took the early criticism well and retooled the show as they went on, keeping the anger but applying more actual thought to the rage.
** They have also publicly apologized and expressed regret for trying to be edgy in the early days of the Jimquisition, including making hateful jokes about marginalized people and intentionally designing the original backdrop with a red, black and white color scheme to evoke Nazi symbolism. Yes, really.

You can't play with a trivia trope

** Thankfully [[AvertedTrope averted]] in the case of Digital Homicide; after a very long litigation process (during which James Romine amended the lawsuit twice and asked for increasingly ridiculous amounts of money for punitive damages, loss of income, emotional distress, and other hogwash charges), the matter was dismissed with prejudice, meaning that these same charges can never be brought up against Jim again. Romine's decision to abandon the case came after Jim's lawyer explained to Romine, [[ToThePain in great detail]], exactly how this would play out if the case went to court. This managed to elicit enough of an OhCrap reaction on Romine's end to drop the suit, and the judge even admonished him to take a better look at exactly what fair use copyright law ''is'' before making any more spurious lawsuits against people who criticize his work. [[http://youtu.be/qS-LXvhy1Do Elaborated on in 37 minutes of glorious mockery here.]]
