** C.J. Graham takes over as Jason, after Tom Morga played him in the prior film’s dream sequences and Ted White played him the last time he physically appeared.

* TheOtherDarrin: Thom Matthews replaces John Shepherd as the adult Tommy Jarvis from the previous film.
* TheOtherMarty: Dan Bradley, the stunt coordinator originally cast as Jason. Paramount higher-ups felt he was too bulky when they saw the first day's rushes and replaced him with [[EvilIsBigger the enormous C.J. Graham]]. Since the character wears a mask throughout the entire film, the scenes that Dan Bradley shot were not redone and some of his footage remains in the film, as he plays Jason during the paint balling sequence. If you look closely, you can tell its a different actor during the sequence as Dan Bradley is considerably shorter than C.J Graham. This is also why Jason's eye color changes during the film.

* FatalMethodActing: Just barely averted with Nancy [=McLoughlin=] ''twice''. When Jason smashes the car's windshield, the fence post unexpectedly changed its trajectory towards the passenger's seat where Nancy was at the time and came very close to impaling her. Then when it came to shot Lizbeth's death scene, it was revealed that the tube to give her oxygen was filled with mud and she had to hold her breath for the duration of the scene due to tight scheduling.

* CreatorsFavoriteEpisode: Seres composer Harry Manfredini and producer Frank Mancuso Jr. have both cited this as their favorite of the Friday the 13th series. Manfredini in particular considers his music here as the best he’s composed in the series.
* FatalMethodActing: Just barely averted with Nancy [=McLoughlin=]. When Jason smashes the car's windshield, the fence post unexpectedly changed its trajectory towards the passenger's seat where Nancy was at the time and came very close to impaling her.

* TroubledProduction: Tom [=McLoughlin=] frequently found himself at odds with producer Don Behrns. [=McLoughlin=] would sometimes come on set and find that things he had asked for were either missing or never delivered. Fittingly, Behrns admitted that he'd get a bonus if the film was completed on time. The cast and crew did get their revenge: a swamp cooler that Behrns had set aside as a gift to himself when filming wrapped ended up getting obliterated during the scene where Jason flips the RV. You can see it get launched when the RV flips and then it crashes along the ground.

** Planned ending had Jason's father Elias visiting the graves of his son and wife. He still made it to the novelization, though.
** Reggie and Pam from [[Film/FridayThe13thPartVANewBeginning the previous movie]] were supposed to return. However, Shavar Ross backed down after finding out that Reggie was going to be KilledOffForReal.
** John Shepherd, Tommy Jarvis from [[Film/FridayThe13thPartVANewBeginning the previous movie]] was offered to reprise the role as well, but chose not to as he had become a Born-again Christian.
