* TheOtherDarrin: The English versions of the games were unable to obtain the services of several voice actors who worked on the various Gundam anime series, and thus had to recast some of the roles. For example, Creator/MarkGatha (Domon) retired from voice acting to become a doctor, and Music/MarkHildreth (Heero) was apparently not even approached to reprise his role. Travis Milne, who voices Kamille in the first two games, is replaced by James Beach because the former is involved in ''Rookie Blue'', which is a TV series based in Toronto. Simon Hill replaced his uncle, Creator/MattHill, as the voice of Kira for the second game.

** In-series example -- Judau is voiced by Creator/AndrewFrancis instead of Sean Broadhurst in the sequel.

* TalkingToHimself: In the third game, Creator/BrianDrummond plays both [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamWing Heero Yuy and Zechs Merquise/Milliardo Peacecraft]]. To Drummond's credit, the two sound almost nothing alike, although he very rarely tends to slip into Milliardo's gravelly voice while speaking as Heero, most often when saying Heero's CatchPhrase. And it's not that he can't do it (he does so quite well, in fact), it's just the bizarreness of him playing Heero after spending the last decade playing Zechs in the ''Wing'' anime and various video games.
** Also, Creator/BradSwaile as both [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamCharsCounterattack Amuro Ray]] and [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 Setsuna F. Seiei]]. Which is thrown in your face at the start as these are the exact two pilots used for the tutorial missions.
** Once the DLC is released, Creator/RichardIanCox as [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Kai Shiden]] and [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 Allelujah Haptism]].
** And on that note, Creator/SamuelVincent as [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSeedDestiny Athrun Zala]] and [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam00 Tieria Erde]].
** Creator/ScottMcNeil plays both Duo Maxwell and Gym Ghingham, leading to a number of between-mission dialogues where Scott [=McNeil=] comments on what a psychopath Scott [=McNeil=] is.[[note]]He's right.[[/note]]
** In Japanese, Creator/TakehitoKoyasu is both Gym Ghingham and Milliardo Peacecraft, while Creator/ToruFuruya is both Amuro and Ribbons.
** Also in Japanese, we have the most definitely intentional case of Creator/ShuichiIkeda as [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamCharsCounterattack Char Aznable]] and [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamUnicorn Full Frontal]]. However, this shockingly didn't make it into the English language version, as even though Frontal is stated to have a voice that cannot be distinguished from Char's, he's voiced by Jonathon Love as opposed to Creator/MichaelKopsa. It still is played straight, though, as Love also plays [[Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam Paptimas Scirocco]] (not that you'd be able to tell if you weren't listening carefully enough).
** [[Anime/MobileSuitZetaGundam Haman Karn]] and [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamCharsCounterattack Nanai Miguel]] are both voiced by Creator/YoshikoSakakibara in Japanese, and Nanai can be selected as an Operator in the third game.

** Another in-series example, only in Japanese: due to the [[AuthorExistenceFailure death of]] Creator/DaisukeGori in between between the second and third games, Creator/TesshoGenda is voicing [[Anime/MobileSuitGundam Dozle Zabi]] in ''3''.
