* DawsonCasting: Dora's first voice actor, Kathleen Herles, was ten when the series premiered, but was in her late teens when she was surpassed. Caitlin Sanchez (12 at the start of her tenure) and Fátima Ptacek (11 at the start of her tenure) were also adolescent when voicing her; averted for the latter when she reprised her role for ''Dora and Friends'' when Dora has become a pre-teen.

Misplaced, moving to the correct tab

* BilingualBonus / GeniusBonus: Swiper's trademark mask and gloves make him an inversion of the character Zorro, whose name means "fox". Instead of being a righteous thief called a fox, he's a mischievous fox called a thief, or "swiper".

deliberate redlink for Charlotte's Web 2 so it'll turn blue when its page is made

* AmateurCast: A majority of the voice cast doesn't really have a strong resume. A minor exception is Harrison Chad (Boot's original voice actor) who had a few other roles, such as Cardigan the Lamb in ''Charlotte's Web 2: Wilbur's Great Adventure'' and Young Tarzan in ''Tarzan II''. After Season 4 of Dora wrapped up in 2007, he retired from voice acting.

* TheResolutionWillNotBeIdentified: The last episode "Let's Go to Music School" plays out like a typical regular episode, though the only hint is that the [[WesternAnimation/DoraAndFriendsIntoTheCity Explorer Girls]] cameo in the episode.

* [[TheShelfOfMovieLanguishment The Shelf of TV Languishment]]: The last six episodes were completed sometime in 2014, but didn't air in the United States until 2019, due to the show's waning popularity and the rise of ''WesternAnimation/PAWPatrol'''s own popularity. This is made more awkward thanks to some of these episodes being intended as the [[SpinoffSendoff set up to the spin-off show]] ''WesternAnimation/DoraAndFriendsIntoTheCity''... with that show having ended its own run in 2017. Hell, it even managed to release after the character's ''[[Film/DoraAndTheLostCityOfGold live-action film]]''.
** Season 2 was intended to premiere in Fall 2001, given by the copyright date in the credits, but due to the September 11 terrorist attacks, Season 2 didn't debut unril Spring 2002.
