** The Genesis version of the game was originally planned to have support for an early version of ''online multiplayer'', which was meant to be accomplished by the [[VaporWare abandoned]] [[http://segaretro.org/Edge_16 Edge 16 modem adapter]] for the Genesis. The CES 1994 version of the game was playable with this option, but when plans for the adapter fell through by the time Ballz was released, the feature was scrapped from the final game. For some reason, the manual still mentions the option to use the peripheral.
** The character added in the director's cut version, Zombie, has data present in the Genesis version, but is very unfinished, as if they are made playable by hacking, they can only turn in place, and cannot move or attack at all.
