* FanNickname: Fans refer to Masato Kanai as "The Prince" or "Prince Kanai." [[AscendedMeme It crops up in official material from time to time as well.]] In fact, it's pervasive enough that when Creator/{{Sanrio}} modeled a character after him for ''VideoGame/ShowByRock'', they gave him [[RequisiteRoyalRegalia a royal prince motif]].

Added DiffLines:

* [[PromotedFanboy Promoted Fangirl]]: Mao Higashide became a fan of BIGMAMA after seeing them play on the ''short films'' tour because she was excited to see a violinist like herself in a band; shortly thereafter, she became the band's long-standing violinist herself.

* NoExportForYou: All of their music is available either on Apple Music or Spotify except, for whatever reason, the first ''Roclassick'' EP.
** Additionally, none of their videos released with Universal-J are available overseas, despite making some steps to promote ''‪-11°C'' and ''Roclassick ~The Last~'' in English.

Added DiffLines:

* ThePeteBest: Yusuke Fukasawa and Kohei Yokota, former rhythm guitar (when Kanai was a LeadBassist) and strings player respectively, who left the band to be replaced by Hideto Yasui and Mao Higashide just after ''short films''. Their participation in the band is seldom if ever mentioned, to the point that BIGMAMA observes their anniversary years with respects to the year they were replaced (2007).

* BonusMaterial: "Foxtail" was considered this for ''-11°C'', and was tacked onto the end of the [[LimitedSpecialCollectorsUltimateEdition "Complete Edition"]] of the album released six months after the original version. Fortunately, for those who didn't want to shell out for the album twice, it was made available as a one-off digital single as well.

* PromotedFanboy: The band's earliest incarnation formed to play Music/{{Yellowcard}} covers at their high school festival; in 2011, some seven or eight years later, they served as Yellowcard's opening act on some of their Japanese tour dates.

* {{Remaster}}: All the tracks featured on ''BESTMAMA'' were remastered to sound cohesive as a compilation. Unlike many audio remasters, this didn't just entail [[LoudnessWar making all the tracks louder]]; some were made louder, some were made quieter, and most of the early tracks were re-EQ'ed to bring them closer to the standard of their current work.

* RearrangeTheSong:
** "Keisandakai Cinderella," "Diamond Ring," and "Koukyoukyoku 'Shinsekai'" all received updated versions with additional orchestral elements;
*** "Keisandakai Cinderella" was fully re-recorded for ''Roclassick'', and the updated version was the one to appear on ''[[GreatestHitsAlbum BESTMAMA]]'', supplanting the original.
*** "Diamond Ring" was re-recorded and released on "to mother;" however, maybe due to the fact that it had such a limited release, ''BESTMAMA'' featured the original version. The updated arrangement occasionally pops up in live shows when the band has the opportunity to perform with backup strings.
*** "Koukyoukyoku 'Shinsekai'" had extra strings mixed in post-production for its release on ''Kimi ga Mata Burausu no Botan o Todomeru Made''; the updated version has supplanted the original to the degree that it's no longer even labeled as the "orchestral version," as it was on its release.
** "Happiemesis" was originally an unnamed acoustic BSide on the live-exclusive "to mother" single; six and a half years later, the full band arrangement appeared on ''-11°C''.
* RecycledTitle: [[{{Retcon}} Retroactively and temporarily]]. The WorkingTitle of the song that would eventually become "Happiemesis" had been "Kimi omou, yueni ware ari," but by the time this was revealed, they had released the album of the same name with an unrelated title track. The former came to be referred to as "Kimi omou, yueni ware ari 2012" until its final title was revealed.

* RereleaseTheSong: "we have no doubt" and "CPX" were re-recorded for ''Love and Leave'' from their original version on ''short films''. "look at me," from the same EP, was re-recorded seven years later and released as a B-side to "alongside."

* EclipsedByTheRemix: [[InvokedTrope Invoked]] in the case of "Koukyoukyoku 'Shinsekai'"; after the original version appeared on the ''Roclassick'' EP, a new mix labeled the "orchestral" mix was released on ''Kimi ga Mata Burausu no Botan o Todomeru Made''. This version supplanted the original to the point where references to the orchestral mix drop the label altogether.

* TheOtherMarty: "we have no doubt" and "CPX," appeared on ''short films'' with the band's previous lineup, including a different rhythm guitarist and strings player; for their reappearance on ''Love and Leave'', they were re-recorded with the current lineup (i.e. with Yasui and Higashide). "Look at Me" also eventually received this treatment, seven or eight years later. All three songs were featured on the GreatestHitsAlbum in their re-recorded versions.
