* TheStinger in the trailer for ''Film/CabinInTheWoods'' shows the elevator into the Facility, which is supposed to be the third act twist. For context, even the back cover of the DVD release only describes the plot as "bad things happening".

* The first trailer for ''Film/SonicTheHedgehog2020'' ends with Dr. Robotnik marooned on a mushroom world, having gone bald, and sporting a giant mustache that makes him resemble his [[VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog video game counterpart]], which only happens in the first [[TheStinger stinger]].

* ''Film/DoubleJeopardy'' was infamous for its trailer, revealing that: Ashley Judd goes to jail for the murder of her husband, she finds out her husband is alive and framed her, a fellow inmate informs her that she cannot be convicted for the same crime twice, and that she escapes custody, and then menacingly points a gun at her husband while Tommy Lee Jones (who was investigating Judd) sits back and watches. What's even worse is that the show all of this in ''chronological'' order.

* The trailer for ''Film/{{Firewall}}'' pretty much spoils every important plot point up until the end, though it's possibly justified, considering not much else happens in the film.

To prevent the narrator and trailer from spoiling too much of the film, a pair of cartoon [[{{Mon}} Chemies]], [=Hopper1=] and the Geats Chemy (a white nine tailed fox) bounce all over the screen "fighting" with each other, resulting in them blocking the screen and drowning out the narrator, much to their annoyance.

* One trailer for ''Film/{{Morbius}}'' showed the Vulture from ''Film/SpiderManHomecoming'', when in the movie itself he is only in TheStinger, undermining the UnexpectedCharacter impact.

* In ''Film/TheWizard'', the final selection for the climactic tournament being ''VideoGame/SuperMarioBros3'' is treated as TheReveal, but since the movie is essentially a 90-minute advertisement for Creator/{{Nintendo}} products, they obviously wanted to make sure the trailer gave kids a nice, clear shot of the title screen for the then-unreleased-in-the-West game, to entice them to go see the movie for a sneak preview.

As you watch the movie, she has a very calm and calculated personality, and it becomes clear that the only thing that could possibly force ''that'' level of emotion out of her would be the death of her beloved twin brother. Which is exactly what happens.
