* In Creator/TimBurton's ''Film/AliceInWonderland2010''
** The Knave of Hearts.
** The Jabberwocky fits as DragonInChief.
* In ''Film/AustinPowers'', Dr. Evil's second-in-command is the appropriately titled Number Two, though he is not that happy with how his boss runs his evil empire.
* ''Film/{{Australia}}'': Neil Fletcher appears to fit the role of Dragon for his boss, Leslie 'King' Carney, through the first act of the movie. [[spoiler:around midway through, Fletcher kills Carney, marries his daughter, and takes control of Carney's business empire.]]
* In ''Film/TheAvengers1998'', Sir August has two: Mrs. Peel's clone and Bailey. Mrs. Peel kills both of them before Sir August dies during a sword fight with Steed.
* It is eventually revealed that Scarecrow is this to [[spoiler:Ra's Al Ghul]] in ''Film/BatmanBegins''.
* In ''Film/CharliesAngels'', [[spoiler:Vivian]] turns out to be this one to BigBad [[spoiler:Eric Knox]], and also quite the DarkActionGirl. [[spoiler:Vivian started out as a loyal number two, went on to be (considered) a BigBad herself, only to be revealed as Knox's Dragon and "DarkMistress".]]
* In ''Film/{{Clash of the Titans|1981}}'', the Greek gods' Dragon is the Kraken, which they send out to punish cities that displease them.
* In ''Film/{{Clash of the Titans|2010}}'' Calibos is Hades' Dragon (along with the Kraken).
* In the animated film ''Disney/{{Hercules}}'', the Hydra is a large serpentlike creature, a literal dragon sent by Hades to kill Hercules. After the Hydra's defeat, Hades sends more monsters, only to have Hercules defeat them all.
* Bennett in ''Film/{{Commando}}'' is one of the most memorable Dragons in cinematic history. He [[spoiler:dies in the opening moments of the movie in order to do a FaceHeelTurn]] and then [[DragonAscendant outlives]] the rather disappointing BigBad (who is only memorable in that he is played by Tony Hedaya wearing a ton of fake tan). And if that weren't enough he wears a [[AwesomeButImpractical Chainmail Wife-Beater]] sports a [[BadassMoustache Handlebar Moustache]] and is made out of CrazyAwesome. If [[Creator/ArnoldSchwarzenegger Arnie]] weren't in this movie, one gets the feeling that it would have been called '''"Bennett"'''. Darth who?
* The [[FourEyesZeroSoul bespectacled Grange]] is Top Dollar's Dragon in ''Film/TheCrow''.
* Mr. French is Costello's Dragon in ''Film/TheDeparted''.
* The ''Franchise/DieHard'' films make good use of Dragons:
** In [[Film/DieHard the original movie]], John [=McClane=] is hunted by Karl, the hulking German, and must defeat him before he can defeat Hans Gruber, the BigBad. Technically [[spoiler:Karl does not die until the end, but [=McClane=] leaves him bloody and beaten before throwing Gruber off the building. Karl then emerges for round two, only to be gunned down by Al.]]
** ''Film/DieHard2'' has [[spoiler:a FaceHeelTurn bad guy that gets thrown into a jet engine.]]
** ''Film/DieHardWithAVengeance'' had Targo, whom John manages to beat to almost death before he gets killed by his own boss.
** ''Film/LiveFreeOrDieHard'' has three Dragons: Mai, the WaifFu-wielding DarkActionGirl [[spoiler:though she is rather conspicuously killed halfway through]]; Rand, the acrobatic French mercenary, and Emerson, whose task is take over Woodlawn and download all the financial data to Gabriel.
* In ''Film/DoubleImpact'', Jean-Claude Van Damme plays twins who must separately face the BigBad's two Dragons, one of which is Bolo Yeung.
* ''Film/DungeonsAndDragons''. Damodar is this to Profion.
* In ''Film/EnterTheDragon'', Bolo is TheDragon for Mr. Han, the BigBad. Oddly, killing TheDragon falls to [[TheLancer Roper the con man]], rather than Lee TheHero (who goes straight for Han as soon as Bolo is defeated, and who is ''The Dragon'' but not TheDragon).
* Subverted in ''Film/{{Equilibrium}}''. The Dragon, Brandt, is set up as Preston's equal and nemesis throughout the film, but when they face off for the final duel, [[spoiler:it turns out to be a CurbStompBattle.]] On the other hand, [[spoiler:the BigBad, who seems like a noncombatant politician save for a blink-and-you'll-miss-it clue, turns out to be Preston's toughest opponent in the film]].
* In ''Film/EscapeFromNewYork'', The Duke of New York has the unkempt Romero to carry out his orders.
* In the animated film ''WesternAnimation/TheFlightOfDragons'', the evil red wizard Ommadon's Dragon is a literal dragon, Bryaugh, who is defeated by the Hero's literal [[TheLancer Lancer]], Sir Orin. [[spoiler:Sir Orin is a knight who allows Bryaugh to engulf him in flames, then casts his fiery sword into Bryaugh's chest. They both die, though Orin gets better.]]
* ''Franchise/{{Godzilla}}'' staple King Ghidorah is often under the command of various evil aliens (and/or [[Film/GodzillaVsKingGhidorah people from the distant future]]...[[RetCon depending on which continuity you're watching]]). Ironic, considering that [[VillainDecay he was the most feared galactic threat in the universe in his VERY film debut]]. It's a case where he's [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin '''THE''']] [[TheDragon Dragon]].
* Mad Dog was Johnny Wong's Dragon from the John Woo movie ''Film/HardBoiled''. Like Paul, he gives Tequila and Alan a fight when the three clash and during the big hospital shootout, before [[spoiler:he does a HeelFaceTurn and blows the gun out of Johnny's hands to put an end to [[MoralEventHorizon Johnny's psychotic massacre of the patients that Mad Dog had agreed to let pass]]. He gets killed by Johnny soon after]].
* Prince Nuada of ''Film/HellboyIITheGoldenArmy'' has a few dragons: Mr. Wink, [[spoiler:the Elemental, and arguably, the Golden Army, as they are FAR more durable than most MechaMooks]].
** In the first movie, [[ClockworkCreature Karl]] [[{{Ghostapo}} Ruprect]] [[CombatSadomasochist Kroenen]] is TheDragon to BigBad [[DarkMessiah Rasputin]]. This is an [[AdaptationalBadass upgrade]] from the comics in which he was just one of several [[EvilGenius Evil Geniuses]] and TheDragon role was filled first by frog-monster Sven Olafson (''Seed of Destruction''), then [[OurVampiresAreDifferent Vladimir Girescu]] (''Wake the Devil'') and finally [[DragonInChief Hermann von Klempt]] (''Conqueror Worm'']]. [[TheDarkChick Ilsa Haupstein]] could also be seen as something of TheDragon in both versions, given her status as Rasputin's NumberTwo.
* ''Film/IndianaJonesAndTheLastCrusade'' serves as a nice comparison of the roles TheDragon and the BigBad. TheDragon, Colonel Vogel, fights Indy in a climactic battle atop a speeding tank. The BigBad, Walter Donovan, goes against our hero in a battle of wits to locate the true Holy Grail.
* In the animated film ''WesternAnimation/TheInvincibleIronMan'', the leader of the four elemental mini-bosses and The Dragon to the mystically powered Mandarin is an actual dragon, the physically dominating Fin Fang Foom, who gives Iron-man his toughest battle, where the magically powered Mandarin is defeated by reaching out to the Mandarin's host and convincing her to cut the Mandarin's power at its source, the magic rings.
* ''Film/JamesBond'' villains almost invariably have a Dragon:
** Professor Dent in ''Film/DrNo''. He's in charge of Dr. No's operations in Jamaica and is ordered to have Bond killed. When his minions fail him, he tries to do the job himself. In later films the villains would usually have mad scientists, professors, politicians etc. who aid them, and would have brutal killers to fill the role of The Dragon. Dr. No has The Three Blind Mice in this role.
** Red Grant in ''Film/FromRussiaWithLove''. Morzeny could also fit this role if you consider Red Grant to be TheBrute.
** Oddjob in ''Film/{{Goldfinger}}''.
** Although Emilio Largo in ''Film/{{Thunderball}}'' arguably is Blofeld's Dragon, he's the main villain in the film. Bond battles Blofeld proper in ''Film/YouOnlyLiveTwice''. Vargas is TheDragon to Largo.
*** Although [[DarkActionGirl Fiona Volpe]] is arguably the bigger threat to Bond.
** Blofeld's Dragon in ''Film/YouOnlyLiveTwice'' is Hans.
** Irma Bunt in ''Film/OnHerMajestysSecretService'', is TheDragon to Blofeld.
** Mr. Wint, Mr. Kidd and Bert Saxby in ''Film/DiamondsAreForever''. Wint and Kidd are Blofeld's assassins and Bert Saxby is Willard Whyte's former right hand man who betrayed him to Blofeld. Saxby is later killed while trying to assassinate Whyte.
** Tee Hee in ''Film/LiveAndLetDie''.
** Nick Nack in ''Film/TheManWithTheGoldenGun''.
** Jaws in ''Film/TheSpyWhoLovedMe'' and ''Film/{{Moonraker}}''.
** Eric Kriegler in ''Film/ForYourEyesOnly''.
** Gobinda in ''Film/{{Octopussy}}''.
** May Day in ''Film/AViewToAKill''. although Scarpine fills the role of the traditional male henchman.
** Koskov in ''Film/TheLivingDaylights''.
*** Koskov's actually more of a BigBadDuumvirate, with Necros as The Dragon.
*** Necros is better for TheBrute.
** Dario and Colonel Heller in ''Film/LicenceToKill''.
** Xenia Onatopp in ''Film/GoldenEye''. The main male henchmen are General Ourumov and Boris Grishenko.
** Mr. Stamper in ''Film/TomorrowNeverDies''.
** Davidov [[spoiler:and Renard]] in ''Film/TheWorldIsNotEnough''.
** Zao in ''Film/DieAnotherDay''.
** In ''Film/QuantumOfSolace'', [[spoiler:this is subverted beautifully. The Dragon is positioned to cover his boss, as per usual for the trope, and then he's ''blown up''.]]
** ''Film/{{Skyfall}}'' ostensibly has Patrice, but he's just a hired killer. The ''real'' dragon is [[spoiler:no one. After all, Silva considers everyone who's not of utility expendable.]]
** ''Film/{{Spectre}}'' has the thug Mr Hinx, and [[spoiler:the politician, Denbigh, whose role as this only becomes clear much later in the film, after Hinx has been killed.]]
* [[LadyOfWar O-Ren Ishii]] of ''Film/KillBill'' fame seems to collect them, having ''two'' chief bodyguards (Johnny Mo, leader of the Crazy 88s, and PsychoForHire Gogo Yubari) and a right-hand woman (Sofie Fatale) besides.
** Elle Driver was a Dragon, since she was the last (and most difficult to defeat) former teammate the Bride had to fight before confronting Bill. She also serves as an EvilCounterpart, and a {{Foil}} to The Bride.
* Paul Yau (the assassin with the shades), is Johnny Weng's Dragon from Creator/JohnWoo's ''Film/TheKiller''. He gives both heroes of the movie a fight, especially during the church shootout, before [[spoiler:being taken hostage in an attempt to break the PutDownYourGunAndStepAway situation with Johnny and the Killer's girlfriend and getting one put through his skull by Johnny himself]].
* The Cow from ''Film/KungPowEnterTheFist'' is the Dragon. Well... sort of. He's not stronger than the Big Bad, but he is hilariously fast... like when he rapidly kicks the Hero when they freeze in the air.
* In ''Film/LayerCake'', the evil Serbian warlord has a Dragon hitman named, appropriately enough, Dragan. He makes constant threats to decapitate Daniel Craig's character. However, he does not follow the usual formula in that [[spoiler:he spends the entire film untouchable. Neither he nor his boss are defeated.]]
* The first two installments of the ''Franchise/LethalWeapon'' franchise:
** In ''Film/LethalWeapon'', Mr. Joshua (Creator/GaryBusey) is a fairly conventional Dragon.
** Vorstedt, the dragon in ''Film/LethalWeapon2'' is also [[spoiler: revealed to have been the one who killed Rigg' wife years ago]].
* In ''Film/TheLongKissGoodnight'', the film's main villain Timothy is actually the Dragon: the BigBad is the mostly unseen Daedalus [[spoiler:who is killed halfway through the film, after which Timothy replaces him as the BigBad.]]
* ''Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse'':
** In ''Film/IronMan3'', Eric Savin is the dragon to the [[spoiler:Mandarin/Aldrich Killian.]] Savin is really sadistic and carries out most of the physical tasks for his boss.
** In ''Film/CaptainAmericaTheWinterSoldier'', the eponymous Winter Soldier ([[spoiler:a.k.a. Bucky Barnes]]) fills the Dragon role, doing the bidding of [[spoiler:high-ranking HYDRA leader Alexander Pierce]].
** ''Film/ThorRagnarok'': Hela recruits Skurge to be her Executioner, and explains that it's a title for the king's right-hand, tasked with executing the ruler's will. Then she admits a little sheepishly that they were mostly used for executing people. [[spoiler:Skurge becomes more and more disturbed with his new boss over the course of the film, and in the end turns on her without actually having killed anyone for her]].
* TheMenInBlack styled Agents in ''Film/TheMatrix'' are enforcers of The Architect's design to any human except for [[TheChosenOne The One]].
* In ''Film/MysteryMen'', Tony P winds up playing right-hand-man to Casanova Frankenstein. Tony P, in turn, has a Dragon of his own in Tony C.
* In ''Film/{{Norbit}}'', the Latimore Brothers are this to Rasputia. However, the Latimore Brothers have their own Dragon: Deion Hughes.
* Rather hard to pin down in ''Film/NothingButTrouble''. At first, [[BigBad Judge Valkenheiser's]] Dragon appears to be corrupt cop Dennis. However, after [[spoiler:Dennis' HeelFaceTurn]] the role of the Dragon switches rather wildly between Miss Purdah and the Judge's Granddaughter Eldona.
** Their respective fates are also quite different. [[spoiler:Dennis becomes Fausto's bodyguard and Renalda's lover]], [[spoiler:Miss Purdah is very clearly killed during the estate collapse]], and [[spoiler:Eldona's fate is uncertain. She doesn't appear with Alvin in the news report, so she may have died in the estate collapse. Likewise, the fact that Alvin survived also indicates that she may have as well.]]
* In ''Film/{{Oldboy 2003}}'', Mr. Han is the Dragon for Lee Woo-Jin -- his entire purpose in the movie is to absorb Oh Dae-Su's UnstoppableRage.
* [[RedRightHand Count]] [[TortureTechnician Rugen]] in ''Film/ThePrincessBride''. The task of killing him, interestingly, doesn't fall to the hero Westley, but to his friend Inigo Montoya, who [[YouKilledMyFather lost his father to Rugen]] and has [[BestServedCold dedicated the better part of his life to seeking revenge]].
** Fezzik and Inigo both play the Dragon earlier in the movie, with Inigo being the evenly-matched same-style dragon (think of the ''Franchise/MortalKombat'' MirrorMatch or Dark Link, or the sword fight with Meta-Knight in Kirby for the NES) while Fezzik is more of the giant physical challenge sort of dragon.
* Tanaka's unnamed adoptive daughter in ''Film/ThePunisher1989'' works as her protector and top enforcer.
** Loonie Bin Jim from ''Film/PunisherWarZone'', the BigBad's brother. He's a [[ImAHumanitarian maneating lunatic]] FragileSpeedster who's capable of holding his own in close combat against the Punisher. In the end, [[spoiler:he dies as part of the Punishers [[TakingAThirdOption third choice]]]].
* Victor of ''Film/{{Push}}''. Also serves as EvilCounterpart to Nick.
* In the ''Film/RichieRich'' movie, chief of security Ferguson serves as Van Dough's Dragon.
* In the immortal classic ''Film/RoadHouse'', the BigBad, Wesley, has a Dragon by the less-than-impressive name of Jimmy, an ex-con who comes closer than anyone else to actually kicking the hero's ass for good. For his pains, he gets the film's most spectacular death.
* The animated film ''Animation/RoadsideRomeo'' has Chhainu, Charlie Anna's [[ButtMonkey bumbling]] top enforcer.
* Lothar fits this description in ''Film/TheRocketeer''.
* Parodied and subverted in ''Film/TheRunningMan''. Damien's huge bodyguard Sven seems to serve no meaningful role in the movie except as someone for Creator/ArnoldSchwarzenegger to have the big climactic fight with. At the climax of the film, it looks like the two are about to fight, but Sven simply walks off (due to Damien's verbal abuse of him), leaving Schwarzenegger to crush the helpless Damien.
* ''Film/SkyCaptainAndTheWorldOfTomorrow''. Dr. Totenkopf's ActionGirl agent, who bedevils Sky Captain throughout the movie.
* In ''Film/SinCity'', [[PsychoForHire Kevin]] is TheDragon to [[SinisterMinister Cardinal Roark]], [[ScaryBlackMan Manute]] is TheDragon to [[HeWhoMustNotBeSeen Wallenquist]], and arguably [[SerialKiller Roark Jr.]] is TheDragon to his dad, [[WellDoneSonGuy Senator Roark]].
* In ''Film/{{Stargate}}'', the alien posing as the god Ra has the head Jaffa guard Anubis as his Dragon. Anubis is very devoted to Ra and goes himself to fight one of the heroes, Jack O'Neil in the climax.
* In the ''Franchise/StarWars'' movies V-VI, Darth Vader is The Dragon between the heroes and the Emperor. In IV he's The Dragon to Grand Moff Tarkin. In I-III it's Darth Maul and later General Grievous. Darth Tyrannus doesn't quite fit the mold.
** Tyranus does, however, have quite a few of his own Dragons: Jango Fett, Asajj Ventress, and Grievous (again), and in the Expanded Universe, Durge, along with various other "Dark Acolytes."
** So does Vader: [[BountyHunter Boba Fett]] seems to be a particular favorite. Vader also had many apprentices, most notably Galen Marek (the main character of ''VideoGame/TheForceUnleashed'').
** This shows how it is sometimes difficult to identify the BigBad because within the story, the main characters think Dooku is the BigBad, with Sidious just a myth or rumor to worry about. But TheDragon is anyone who is sent in front of a leader, whether or not they turn out to be the true BigBad.
** In episodes VII and VIII Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma serve as Dragons for Supreme Leader Snoke and The First Order [[spoiler:until Ren betrays Snoke and assume command of the First Order in Episode VIII]]
* In ''Film/{{Taken}}'', the sultan's right-hand man, who buys Kim from the white slave-traders, ultimately gives Bryan his biggest fight.
* Sergeant Small in ''Film/TankGirl''.
* Tatsu is the Shredder's Dragon in the original ''Film/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles'' movies. In the [[Film/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles1990 first movie]], Casey Jones is the one to take him on, while in the second movie, the Turtles themselves dispatch him with a "Wishbone Crunch" that consists of sandwiching him between all four of their shells simultaneously. "Tatsu" is one of the Japanese words for a... yeah, you guessed it. Dragon.
* Leatherface from the ''[[Film/TheTexasChainsawMassacre Texas Chainsaw Massacre]]'' series.
* ''Film/TotalRecall1990'' (1990): Richter, to BigBad Cohaagen.
* Although ''{{Transformers}}'' villain Megatron is usually the BigBad, he is presented as the Dragon in [[Film/{{Transformers}} the live-action film series]], specifically ''Film/TransformersRevengeOfTheFallen.'' In this continuity, Megatron serves The Fallen as a master, and is sent on missions to enforce his master's will. The Fallen himself doesn't fight and actively go on missions himself until the climactic final battle in the second movie. However, [[spoiler:he is killed during this battle, quite possibly setting Megatron up for the BigBad role once again, just like all his other incarnations]].
** Megatron appears to be the BigBad in the third film up until the point when Sentinel Prime's FaceHeelTurn is revealed. After that, Megatron believes that Sentinel will allow him to remain in command of the Decepticons and become his dragon. Megatron's decision to betray Sentinel and help Optimus in the final battle comes when Carly [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech throws it in his face]] that his VillainDecay has reached the point where he has become nothing more than Sentinel's unwilling dragon.
** Galvatron, the reconstructed Megatron, also serves as the Dragon for KSI in the fourth film in the series ''Film/TransformersAgeofExtinction'' [[spoiler:before he ends up becoming the films Big Bad.]] Lockdown also serves as a Dragon for his "creators."
** Megatron, back to his true name, also serves as a Dragon in ''Film/TransformersTheLastKnight'' serving the sorceress Quintessa [[spoiler: alongside the brainwashed Optimus Prime, Nemesis Prime.]]
** Megatron is essentially the Dragon in the animated movie too, for Unicron.
* Lola is Gianni's Dragon in ''Film/{{Transporter 2}}''. She spends most of the movie fighting the hero while Gianni takes a nap. [[spoiler:But she's anticlimactically killed by a [[strike:gag cactus]] spike of wall]]
* In the obscure animated movie ''WesternAnimation/TwiceUponATime'', The BigBad Synonamess Botch has a dragon in the form of Ibor, a giant mechanical gorilla with a television for a face. (Neatly, one of the clips that turns up on said face is of Darth Vader from ''The Empire Strikes Back'' -- Creator/GeorgeLucas executive produced this film.)
* Although the movie does not actually contain a Dragon, the Dragon / BigBad relationship is referenced in ''Film/{{Unbreakable}}'': "There's always two kinds; there's the soldier villain -- who fights the hero with his hands; and then there's the real threat -- the brilliant and evil archenemy -- who fights the hero with his mind."
* In ''Film/WhoFramedRogerRabbit'', the weasel chief Smart Ass is this to Judge Doom.
* General Kael in ''Film/{{Willow}}'', who leads [[BigBad Queen Bavmorda’s]] armies and is extremely dangerous; he personally [[CurbStompBattle beats Willow senseless in combat]] and during the FinalBattle, the task of killing him falls to [[TheLancer Madmartigan]].
* The ''Film/XMenFilmSeries'' features a few:
** [[DarkActionGirl Mystique]] serves as Magneto's right-hand woman throughout ''Film/XMen1'' and ''Film/X2XMenUnited''.
** It's somewhat unclear who takes over as Magneto's dragon after Mystique's departure in the third film as there isn't a clear-cut second in command. The two top candidates would be Pyro, who is the only remaining member of the Brotherhood who was with Magneto prior to the beginning of the movie, and Callisto, who was the apparent leader of the Morlocks before they became Magneto's new {{Mook}} army. A case might also be made for Juggernaut, though he fits better in the role of TheBrute.
** Lady Deathstrike is the dragon of William Stryker in the second film.
** In ''Film/XMenOriginsWolverine'', Agent Zero is Stryker's dragon at first, then Sabretooth [[spoiler:and Weapon XI]] later on.
** Emma Frost is the dragon to Sebastian Shaw in ''Film/XMenFirstClass''.
** In ''Film/TheWolverine'', Viper is the dragon to [[spoiler: Yashida]].
** William Stryker is this to Bolivar Trask in ''Film/XMenDaysOfFuturePast''.
** Donald Pierce serves this role to Dr. Xander Rice in ''Film/{{Logan}}''.
** Angel Dust is Ajax's Dragon in ''Film/{{Deadpool|2016}} ''.
** “Jones” is the most prominent of the D’Bari under Vuk’s command in ''Film/DarkPhoenix''. He accompanies her wherever she goes and is the only one aside from her that has any lines.
* Bolo Yeung is perhaps the actor to most persistently portray TheDragon. Mentioned above in the entry for ''Film/EnterTheDragon'', he plays a virtually identical role in nearly every film he's in. A notable exception is ''Film/{{Bloodsport}}'', where he plays the BigBad (though interestingly there's almost no difference in his role in this film and his others, except for the lack of someone above him).
* ''Film/{{The Three Musketeers|1993}}'': Count Rochefort is dragon to the BigBad, Cardinal Richelieu.
* Wez is The Great Humungous' dragon in ''Film/MadMax2TheRoadWarrior''.
* ''Film/{{Maverick}}''. Angel is this to [[spoiler:the Commodore]].
* Peter Drak in ''Film/ScannersIITheNewOrder''.
* In ''Film/SuicideKings'', Creator/DenisLeary plays the Dragon to Creator/ChristopherWalken.
* In ''Film/PaleRider'', Corrupt [[USMarshal Federal Marshal]] Stockburn is [[CorruptCorporateExecutive La Hood]]'s Dragon .
* In 'Film/Centurion' Etain plays this role to Gorlacan the leader of the Picts.
* In the Creator/ErrolFlynn film ''Film/TheAdventuresOfRobinHood'', Sir Guy acts as TheDragon to Prince John.
* ''Franchise/PiratesOfTheCaribbean'':
** Bo'Sun to Barbossa in ''[[Film/PiratesOfTheCaribbeanTheCurseOfTheBlackPearl TheCurse of the Black Pearl]]''.
** Maccus, [[CoDragons and]] Kraken to Davy Jones in ''[[Film/PiratesOfTheCaribbeanDeadMansChest Dead Man's Chest]]''.
** [[DragonInChief Davy Jones]], and Mercer to [[WickedCultured Cutler Beckett]] in ''[[Film/PiratesOfTheCaribbeanAtWorldsEnd At World's End]]''.
** [[spoiler: Angelica to Blackbeard]] in ''[[Film/PiratesOfTheCaribbeanOnStrangerTides On Stranger Tides]]''.
*** Also, the Spaniard fullfils this role for King Ferdinand IV.
* Sark in ''Film/{{Tron}}''.
** Rinzler in ''Film/TronLegacy'' [[spoiler:who is actually a hacked version of Tron.]]
* [[http://www.cracked.com/article_15083_the-7-most-underrated-movie-henchmen.html?wa_user1=5&wa_user2=Movies+%26+TV&wa_user3=article&wa_user4=flashback This]] article from Cracked.com celebrates some of the most underrated dragons in movie history.
* Leroy in ''Film/MysteryTeam''.
* In ''[[Film/TheJungleBook1994 Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book]]'', Kaa (a gigantic Indian Python) apparently serves as the dragon to King Louis, an orangutang who rules over an ancient temple populated by hundreds of smaller monkeys. He summons Kaa whenever a human tries to steal treasure.
* In the sequel of ''Film/ABetterTomorrow'', one of the mooks is a silent gunslinger with dark glasses who [[spoiler:kills the brother of one of the protagonists, refuses to flee with money when he's given chance during the climax, and instead dies in a fair duel against the hero]].
* ''Franchise/CareBears''
** Nicholas is the dragon to the evil book in ''WesternAnimation/TheCareBearsMovie''.

** Firefly to Cobra Commander in ''Film/GIJoeRetaliation''.
* ''Film/JackTheGiantSlayer'': Wicke for Roderick and Fumm for Fallon.

** Faora, Zod's second-in-command in ''Film/ManOfSteel''.
** Lex Luthor had two in ''Film/BatmanVSupermanDawnOfJustice'': Anatoli Knyazev (although his ties weren't initially clear until the end of the movie) and [[spoiler: Doomsday, who is [[DemotedToDragon Zod's reanimated corpse]].]]
** Incubus to [[spoiler: the Enchantress]] in ''Film/SuicideSquad2016''. The Joker himself had Jonny Frost.
* Butch Cavendish in ''Film/TheLoneRanger''.
* In ''Film/KickAss2'', [[TheBrute Mother Russia]] is [[BigBad The Mother Fucker]]'s strongest and by far most dangerous minion, and is the one to fight Hit Girl in the final fight (while Kick Ass handles The Mother Fucker himself). It's also worth noting that she makes more than the rest of the [[LegionOfDoom Toxic Mega Cunts]].
-->'''Genghis Carnage''': (''watching her [[OneManArmy take out ten police officers by herself]]'') $50,000? She's worth it!
* It is eventually revealed in ''Film/RoboCop1987'' that Clarence Boddicker is actually working for the OCP executive Dick Jones. Clarence has Leon Nash as his own dragon.
* Kruger in ''Film/{{Elysium}}''. [[spoiler:[[KlingonPromotion Later]] the DragonAscendant.]]
* ''Film/ThreeAmigos''. Jefe is El Guapo's second in command. He's killed literally less than a minute before El Guapo meets his maker.
* Inadvertantly [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] in ''Film/RedDragon''. The dragon, [[spoiler:who acts as the enforcer for one of the greatest villains in cinematic history, Dr.Hannibal Lecter]], '''is''' the red dragon [[CharacterTitle that the title refers to]]. His delusion is that he actually is a red dragon.
* In ''Animation/TheSnowQueen2012'', the Snow Queen controls the powerful North Wind.
* Count Rupert of Hentzau steals the show from his master Duke Michael in ''Film/ThePrisonerOfZenda''.
* Pete to Teddy in ''[[Film/{{Neighbors2014}} Neighbors]]''.
* Good Cop Bad Cop is this to [[BigBad Lord Business]] in carrying out the arrest, interrogation, imprisonment and execution of plenty of Master Builders over 8 and a half years. However, [[spoiler: [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness Lord Business betrays him by abandoning him to die in the self-destructing Think Tank at the peak of his masterplan]], leading to his HeelFaceTurn]].
* While neither of them are [[AntiVillain particularly villainous]], ''{{Film/Maleficent}}'''s servant Diaval is this to her, serving as her wings and her spy. [[spoiler: Eventually he becomes a literal example]]
* [[DarkChick Valeria]] from Film/RobotHolocaust.
* Chakal from ''WesternAnimation/TheBookOfLife'', has one in a bearded bandit named Chato who informs him of his medal's whereabouts.
* Eric Sacks is this to [[spoiler: the Shredder]] in ''Film/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2014''.
* Patric is is the Dragon in ''Film/ChildrenOfMen'' and a good deal eviler than his boss Luke.
* Gazelle in ''Film/KingsmanTheSecretService''. She is the only one of Valentine's henchmen to be trusted completely with the plan, and is tasked with ensuring it succeeds.
* ''Film/StonehearstAsylum'': Finn is one to Lamb.
* Lord Coward is this to Lord Blackwood in ''Film/SherlockHolmes2009'' and Sebastian Moran is this to Professor Moriarty in ''Film/SherlockHolmesAGameOfShadows''.
* Mr. Greeghan to Balem in ''Film/JupiterAscending'', [[spoiler:after his predecessor Tskalikin is killed for his failure to capture Jupiter]]. Amusingly, the Sargon, his race of humanoid winged reptilians, resemble Dragons and are implied to have started the original myth on Earth.
* Every ''Film/MadMax'' villain has one, with Bubba Zanetti to Toecutter in the [[Film/MadMax1 first]], Wez to Lord Humungus in ''[[Film/MadMax2TheRoadWarrior The Road Warrior]]'', Ironbar to Aunty Entity in ''[[Film/MadMaxBeyondThunderdome Beyond Thunderdome]]'', and Rictus Erectus to Immortan Joe in ''[[Film/MadMaxFuryRoad Fury Road]]''.
* In ''Film/TheLastWitchHunter'', Belial is working to bring the Witch Queen back, though he doesn't stay around for the time she's resurrected due to a small case of [[UnusualEuphemism lead poisoning]].
* ''Film/TheHungerGames'': Clove to the Career Tributes' group.
* In the horror-comedy film ''Film/{{Krampus}}'', [[MonsterClown Der Klown]] [[ScaryJackInTheBox the Jack-In-The-Box]] is the first of Krampus' minions to appear, and is by far the deadliest. Especially if one interprets its serpent-like movements to mean that it is the unseen creature that drags people beneath the snow.
* Braxton from ''Film/TheAccountant''. It's later revealed [[spoiler: that he and Christian Wolff, TheHero, [[LongLostRelative are brothers]], and he eventually makes a HeelFaceTurn in a unique example.]]
* Charlie from ''Film/JackReacher''.
* ''Film/AssassinsCreed2016'': Ojeda is a military officer working under Torquemada. He provides the biggest physical challenge to Aguilar and Maria as they undertake their missions.
* Cal's bodyguard Lovejoy from ''Film/Titanic1997''.
* Taggart is a dragon to Hedley Lamarr in ''Film/BlazingSaddles''. Taggart initially appears to have his own dragon in Lyle, but Lyle soon reveals himself as NumberTwoForBrains. Later on, Mongo presents the most imposing physical challenge to the hero — at least until [[spoiler:his HeelFaceTurn]] — but is more TheBrute than a true dragon.
* In ''Film/TerrorInATexasTown'', Johnny Crale is a gunslinger who serves as [=McNeil=]'s chief enforcer.
* ''WesternAnimation/TheProphet'': The Commandant is in charge, but its the Sergeant who enacts his will; be that leading the soldiers, retrieving Mustafa, or [[spoiler:destroying Mustafa's work to ensure his legacy will be gone]].

to:

* In Creator/TimBurton's ''Film/AliceInWonderland2010''
* The ''Franchise/DieHard'' films make good use of Dragons:

* ''Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse'':
* Sergeant Small in ''Film/TankGirl''.
* ''Film/TotalRecall1990'' (1990): Richter, to BigBad Cohaagen.
* The ''Film/XMenFilmSeries'' features a few:
* Peter Drak in ''Film/ScannersIITheNewOrder''.
* In ''Film/SuicideKings'', Creator/DenisLeary plays the Dragon to Creator/ChristopherWalken.
* ''Franchise/PiratesOfTheCaribbean'':
* Sark in ''Film/{{Tron}}''.
* Leroy in ''Film/MysteryTeam''.
* ''Franchise/CareBears''
** Nicholas is the dragon to the evil book in ''WesternAnimation/TheCareBearsMovie''.
** Christy is this to Dark Heart in ''WesternAnimation/CareBearsMovieIIANewGeneration'', due to a DealWithTheDevil.
* [[spoiler:In a surprising twist, Bane to Talia al'Ghul]] in ''Film/TheDarkKnightRises''.
* Wendell is one of the NumberTwoForBrains variety to Reginald Charming in ''Film/TrickyPeople''
* In the 1979 film ''Film/TheBlackHole'', Dr. Reinhardt has built the imposing robot Maximilian to be his own dragon.
* Dr. Schadenfruede from WesternAnimation/{{Igor}}.
* Zartan to Destro in ''Film/GIJoeTheRiseOfCobra''.
** Firefly to Cobra Commander in ''Film/GIJoeRetaliation''.
* ''Film/JackTheGiantSlayer'': Wicke for Roderick and Fumm for Fallon.
* Franchise/DCExtendedUniverse features at least one per BigBad.
* Butch Cavendish in ''Film/TheLoneRanger''.
