* Clone!Orm, is understandably left [[CloningBlues devastated]] after accepting the truth. That he was created as an ExpendableClone and all his memories were [[FakeMemories faked]]. Both Orin and M'gann are genuinely sympathetic towards him.

* While Batman revealing that he took Robin in specifically so he ''wouldn't'' turn out like him is certainly sweet, there's notable tragedy in the fact that he is ''very'' well-aware of just [[BrokenAce how]] [[HurtingHero screwed up]] he was, and still ''is'', by the death of his parents all those years ago.

** The fact the king was killed ''not'' because of his progressive beliefs but because of his hypocrisy: despite preaching there being no difference Green and White Martians, he still believed that Red Martians were superior to both.

* M'comm all but stating to his mother that he hates her because she is a Ga'ruun, or Green Martian, because of the pain and suffering he endured from the other Ga'ruun growing up.

* We learn that M'comm resents his sister M'gann because she left him behind on Mars when things got so bad that she couldn't deal with it anymore. She didn't mean to abandon him, all she could say was because "[[InnocentlyInsensitive she was a child too]]"

'''M'comm:''' (''voice slightly wavering'') Don’t you think I ''know'' that? But why didn’t you take me with you?! I was a ''child'', and you were my rock! ''[[SuddenlyShouting YOU SHOULD HAVE PROTECTED ME!]]'' (''bitterly'') Instead, you traded me in… for a cute little ''green Beast Boy''.

** For a brief moment, the {{Jerkass}} R'ess is able to spin this into an argument to keep the caste system in place that rallies the crowd. Luckily J'emm is able to push back and point out the system is responsible for everything wrong on M'arzz including his father's murder swaying most of the audience to his side.

** The stinger shows M'gann crying on the altar where she and Conner were to be married, that they built together with M'gann's famly's help.

* Beast Boy has been rather despondent since returning to Earth. He tells his teammates that he's still jet-lagging from the return trip home from Mars. The truth is he still isn't over Conner's death. In his second scene, he comes downstairs at night to watch some TV, he turns on the news showing King Brion's speech of welcoming metahumans. When the news then talks about troubles from Vlatava (his girlfriend Perdita's country), Beast Boy immediately turns off the TV and heads back to bed. In another scene, he's lying on his bed, unable to sleep. He briefly looks at his phone, showing a shrine dedicated to Conner, then faces the ceiling again. In both latter scenes, Beast Boy remained silent.

* As suspected, Joker was involved in Barbara's paralyzation but not in the way everyone [[ComicBook/TheKillingJoke expected]]. Orphan was set on killing Joker and was about to deliver the fatal blow. Barbara jumped in between them and took the slash, as she didn't want Cassandra to become a murderer.

* The Kents and Lois Lane have to explain to Jon Kent that his Uncle Conner is dead, as well as the whole concept of death. By the end of the episode Superman is crying, griefing over the death of his little brother.
* One for Jade as well. It turns out that the reason she cut herself out of her family's lives, and has been engaging in a suicide attack on Sensei and the rest of Infinity Island, is because she felt her daughter would be better off without her in her life, as Jade is afraid she'll do to Lian, what [[AbusiveParents Sportsmaster]] did to her and Artemis.

* Turns out the Kaizer-thrall is really this universe's version of Danny Chase, who was just an 11-year-old when he had his metagene activated, was trafficked off world, was tortured by Desaad and had his brain put into that machine. Not only that, he's dying and Megan's brother kills him, making Kaizer Thrall attack the heroes. The original Danny Chase was a hated character, but damn the poor kid did nothing to deserve all this.

* Virgil tells Black Canary about how the Reach [[ColdBloodedTorture tortured him and a bunch of other kids]], [[KilledOffForReal some of which he never saw again]], and [[AdultFear his family has no idea where he is]]. He also requests that he can go home so he can let his family know that he's alright.

* While not given much focus, what with all the political chaos going on at the moment. Orin confronting Orm in his cell, angrily asking his brother if he had first been corrupted by Vandal. Or if Orin had always resented him the moment their mother introduced them to each other. A still angry and bitter Orm never gives him a proper answer.

* As always, Tomar Re dies. He valiantly syphons the promethean's fire breath into space, preventing New Genesis from beign destroyed. A spiteful Lor-Zord burns him with heat vision; unable to maintain both the shield and the syphoning construct, Re choses the latter, being speared by the twin red rays. Hs final thoughts are of Krypton, and how he didn't fail this time.

* Conner's [[SanitySlippage Mental State]] After waking up from his hallucination that he was Match and he killed Superman. He believes that he failed Ghosty (Phantom Girl) and believes himself to be a [[IAmAMonster monster]]. Only made worse when he spots the bus from the bridge that Klarion had possesed in Zatanna's arc. Seeing that as final proof he's lost his mind a final hallucination appears

* In the first two episodes, Beast Boy seems to have [[TookALevelInJerkass taken a level in jerkass]]. The credits show why as Beast Boy is listening to Perdita's message on his phone. It seems they're growing distant because both their work is taking a toll in their relationship. Especially Perdita, who has to deal with "all these people fleeing Markovia flooding into Vlatava.". The message ends with her, nearly breaking into tears, wishing her father was alive to handle the situation better, and that Beast Boy was with her. What's more poignant is Beast Boy's tired expression, implying that he listened to before leaving for Mars, and may have played it multiple times when he's alone.

* Garfield is having PTSD over what happened to Brion, and even drags Conner to the surface during a bad sandstorm out of desperation to help him. If it wasn't for J'emm and the others, they would have been trapped on the surface while Garfield has a PTST-induced nightmare for who knows how long.

* Conner's (apparent) death and right on the day before his ''wedding''. With Wally gone and now him (unless the Legion intervened), we've lost two of the original Team, made worse is that it's implied he may have survived if not for the interference of whomever the Legion has been chasing.
